  • Cheap and works

    - Adds two USB 3 port on older laptops.- It's slim and does not stick out.- Plug and play: I plugged in my Dell M1730 (Win 8) and it just worked.
While it's a lot more faster than regular USB 2 ports, you won't get USB3 full speed due to PCIe limitations.
The only useful PCIe card I've actually found for my pc.
  • 1Gb for a small price

Cheap and fast. It copied data from my synology NAS at 100MB (mega byte) per second, including overhead, that's very close to 1Gb (gigabit) per second.I tried on with my apple macbook air and macbook pro.
    None, i love it.
If you want/ need wired network on e.g. A newer macbook, which have no ethernet adapter, don't bother buying an expensive apple adapter. Usb3 is capable of 1Gb and so is this device. It's great

Cheap. Faster than USB 2.0 but I did not made serious tests.
Generally good solution. Especially after implementing its drivers in windows update service.
It is not so easy to plug USB cable/flash because stronger push activate Express card click and whole adapter bacame unattached form laptop. It is better to plug USB device into this card and then to insert it into laptop...
  • Express Card Adapter for Laptop

    posted by r1c4rd0100

    - Works fine - Doesn't protrude from side of laptop - Installation very easy, just put the Express Card into the laptop to run the cd drives and was soon working
As long as you've got the recent WHQL drivers, this should work fine on 32-bit or 64-bit Windows. I get a 90MB/s read speed from my Samsung S2 USB3.0 HD. I couldn't find any Mac or Linux drivers yet. The chip is a Fresco Logic FL1000 FWIW.
If you're running Windows and need a USB3.0 card, this one will work well.
  • Works seemlessly under GNU/Linux

I plugged it into my laptop then plugged my new USB3 external drive and there it was. Unplugging and replugging also seemed to work just fine. The drive was happy to pull all its power from the single USB3 connector even without using the extra power cable that comes with the card.
I have not yet tried to use the eSata part.
I like the fact that it does not stick out. Assuming the eSata part works as well, it's a great way to update a laptop's ports.
