  • Problem with case

The drive works perfectly but the usb case broke down.
A friend bought one of these and he has the same problem.
As I wrote, the hard drive works perfectly. The case doesn´t work anymore.
  • Slim enclosure with nice finish

Overall, this is a nice metal compact enclosure, and is one of the cheapest ones that comes with a standard USB 3.0 Micro-B connection on the hard drive (as opposed to using the full-sized A connector that most cheaper enclosures use). I prefer to have the Micro-B connector as most other commercial 2.5" external hard drives will use this same type of cable (e.g. my Western Digital and Toshiba 2.5" USB 3.0 drives use the same connector). Nice as these cables are easier to come by. Overall, the pros are:* Standard USB 3.0 Micro-B connection on hard drive side* Good price, compared to other options* Nice brushed-metal finish* Slim* No-screw design means you can put your hard drive in without any tools.
I would not recommend this enclosure if you plan on swapping drives in and out often. But if you're going to keep the same drive in it all the time, once you get it in, all seems fine. I haven't tested it for USB 3.0 speeds. You may like or detest the flower pattern design on it. It's subtle enough for me that it doesn't bother me much.
It's hard to get your drive in, so if you're not patient with such things, you may want to look elsewhere. But if not, overall, I recommend it as an affordable option with a USB 3.0 Micro-B connector - for me that was what sold me.
  • does the job well

slightly bevelledtough metallight weightrounded cornersseams are tight and keep out dirt / dust very well (but obviously not waterproof)connect/read/write led is obvious and a nice bright bluefast (only tested USB2 so far and with an SSD)
Logo / printing is only on one side and completely flat so easily covered with a sticker if you really care (or black marker might do it).Did not test USB3 capabilities but fully compatible with USB 1 and 2.
Generally good all around. If the USB port was better (tighter and stronger) I would give this 5/5 for quality instead of 4.
  • Hdd Docking Station Review

The case is made of top quality plastic. The PSU cable is long enough and don't gets to hot in use. The cable provided is USB 3 and well maded one. Installed an 1 TB disk WD green. When transfered content to the external one, I got a transfer rate about 33 Mb/s, considering that my port is an USB2, I am very pleased. This unit can handle with two disks at once.
European buyers should order a plug adapter SKU 3529 in order to use it in homeland. It comes with an CD with some backup software, at least two apps to do the same and a bunch of drivers to install, never used it. It is just plag and play,
It's really a good buy. Overall great quality for the money
