ultrafire cree c3 flashlight Customers Reviews

  • Nice light but...

Good build quality...seems expensive and fits well in the hand. Clicky was responsive but much nicer after upgrading the rubber boot and making slight adjustments. Anodizing is smooth with no visible blemishes.Glass lens and aluminum OP reflector.
It seems build quality and components vary greatly.
This light is much more useable in the 2xAA format since it is much brighter.
If you like the size of this light in a 1xAA format...by all means, purchase the single mode aluminum C3 or the single mode Stainless Steel C3. I have no experience with the Stainless Steel 5-mode Q5 C3 so can't comment.
  • Great torch... one of the best for the money here!

    - Very low cost.
    - Really good quality build.
    - Quite bright for it's size.
    - Somewhere around 200 lumen.
    - Decent battery life (on regular AAs)
    - Can take Li batteries or just regular AAs
Mine cost $20 when I originally bought it. (the first one) Since then it's come down to $14.00, and I've bought another 4 for gifts for friends... they all love them! Great for camping too.
Out of the 4 different types of DX supplied flashlights, this one is the best bang for the money and for useability you can't beat it. You won't regret the $14.00 spent!
  • First impressions - useful and powerful

    - This flashlight HAS the mode memory (unlike C3/P4/5-mode model)
    - The mode can be switched by slightly depressing the clicky for a split second, without visibly switching off the light
    - Sanyo NiMH 2700 Supperlattice AAs (14mm) fit without a problem, I measured that the flashlight lasted 5.5h on two of them (after running on high for 5 minutes).
    - The driver circuit keeps the light quite bright and when the brightness drops, it will turn off in a matter of minutes
    - I received the flashlight this Monday since the post office forgot to inform me that they had it laying there since last week.
-Don't use two 14500 in this flashlight, it is outside of the specs and some people report that they killed the C3/P4 with them
    - Came switched to SOS mode, took some time to work out the mode switching since no manual is included.
    - I did not measure the driver circuit output, but the input values (Ain, Vin) are following:
    1AA NiMH (1.25V when measured)
    1.8A on HIGH
    0.77A on MEDIUM
    0.22A on LOW
    2AAs NiMH (2.6V when measured)
    2.65A on HIGH
    0.35A on MEDIUM
    0.12A on LOW
I am not a flashoholic so I can't compare this flashlight with other, but it looks great and the performance is great too, I only hope that the emitter will last.
  • Good light, fun and performance level satisfying

When I decided which one of this Ultrafire models to get, I invested the extra bucks and must say the bright anodized finish on this torch is well worth it.
Function is easy, on- off. Reliability is good, sometimes I need to turn the bezel, i.e. tighten it on the thread to maintain electric contact. Really good brightness and endurance, even when used with a single AA cell. What I read here on dealextreme was what I got!
This is my edc light. Of course I wear a single AAA light in my pocket as well, but this is the one that saves the day when more performance is needed. I have an extra one in the house.
Time invested in reading the reviews was well invested; Torch performs fairly well. Feels and does like a professional light, basically! A torch to me is in many aspects a simple device. It was no different when handling this nice edc light.

Great compact and very bright flashlight. Takes AA's (1 or 2) or 14500 battery. Good solid construction. Fits into every pocket or bag. Great item on your belt when you're in law enforcement or medical services, or just when hiking. Works for hours of heavy use on 14500 or 2 penlites.
Forget bulky maglites, this is brighter, lighter and at a fraction of the price.
Get one for every convenient location, car, home, office, camping gear.
