  • Works with SDR on Linux

    posted by sanderj

One of my goals was to get it working with SDR (Software Defined Radio) ... which went well: I have it working on Linux for FM radio using rtl_fmTechnical details:Realtek, RTL2838UHIDIRRafael Micro R820T tuner
    Command to listen to FM radio under Linux:sudo rtl_fm -f 96900000 -W -s 150000 -r 48000 - | aplay -r 48k -f S16_LE -t raw -c 1
Great stick for SDR.Pity I can't find any DAB features.
  • Good one!

Small, like a pendrive (one of the first ones =P ).Do the Job! I turn my notebook to a TV...
Windows 7 recognize it well, although it came with the cd drivers ok.
It works and save me to buy a TV for my bedrooms. It's a shame that i can't use the remote. i hope, i can find and answer to this.
  • Not EZTV668

While not really the E4000 tuner it is still a compatible tuner with RLT-SDR. The device that comes in the box is an EzTV645 with an Fitipower FC0013 tuner.
While the product now shipping is not the EZTV668 you are still getting an RTL-SDR compatible device. Just a shame DealExtreme does not really know what is being shipped out.
  • Good product nice price

Very cheap product with great services. Support DVB-T/T2 DVB-C and SDR.
Maybe useful some documentation for users,. I use this device under Linux. Current media tree (kernel 3.14) supports DVB-T receiver only, and SDR functionality. Some hours of compile and configure i can provide a nice addon to our family HTPC (XBMC). Now Live TV application added to service. Can use Live TV timeshift and record video from epg. Used applications: XBMC 12 and tvheadend.
I only use DVB-T only at now. DVB-C and T2 not tested
  • Good, not perfect!

Great for a fast access to web, games, email, and any other kind of work directally on your tv.
I think it's very useful, if you're lazy on your sofa and just want to watch news or other on the web... but it definitely can't substitute a real pc. It shows even on external box that supports skype... but with no mic in, and no bluetooth, how can it work? I tried a usb dongle, but it doesn't support it: have I to buy something newer?
    For that price, it worths!
