  • Model# TR-001 will also charge lithium-polymers

    - Unique: Runs on 12VDC (required for portable solar and wind generated systems).
    - Price.
    - Will also charge 3.7 Volt lithium-polymer batteries (see "Other Thoughts" below).
I've always recycled "dead" laptop and digital camera battery packs. Really. Break open one of these and you'll find that most of the individual lithium cells will still provide years of excellent service.
For example, those funky devices that require 3-AA batteries, or 3-AAA batteries, will be far more functional with one lithium-ion (or lithium-polymer) battery. Now my devices will stay fully charged, up to a year on the shelf or in the tool box.
For charging those flat lithium-polymer batteries, I soldered one set of "+" and "-" alligator clips, with leads, into the TrustFire device.
I would upload a picture of my modified TrustFire device, but it would only create confusion and misunderstandings for the DealExtreme customer service department.
Highly recommended item for the hobbyist and experimenter.
  • Good single 18650 XML thrower

Large reflector (54mm) so "throws" well Well builtCame with two batteries not one (see note in 'thoughts' below)Nice finish which appears different shades depending on lighting.Lens is 4mm thick so is unlikely to break in a hurry.Squared off threading.Water proof, tested for 1/2 an hour in about 1m of water and not a single drip got inside the torch.Despite what it looks like in the photos (the hole under LED board) the heat sinking is actually fairly goodGood balance of flood and throw while still being able to light up 10m tall trees 300m away on a clear night (enough to see where trees are but not make out individual branches).Lastly... it looks good.
The picture shows a 2400mAh Trustfire Flame battery, it did not come with this but instead two blue unprotected Trustfire "2500mAh" batteries. I doubt these batteries come close to what they are quoted as being.Probably the largest single 18650 torch around (20cm). Some 2X18650 torches are shorter then this. Despite this it still feels the right size...not too big, and not too small.
A well made torch however there are others on this site that I would consider better in curtain fields if you are looking for in particular. It offers very good throw for a single 18650 XML light. Torch is a knock off of a Surefire torch if I remember rightly.

These are great batteries if you can find devices that'll accept them. I used them in some of the flashlights I purchased here @DX and the light output compare to the standard AAA is extraordinary. So far, I've recharged them over two dozen times and they still keep going strong. The only gripe I have is that they don't last very long which I will mention in the Cons section.
In case people are wondering which flashlights I used them in, they are the Trustfire F23, the Tank 703 and one I believe is made by ESE. One thing to bear in mind is that the flashlight do get extremely hot after prolong use, so use them at your own discretion. As for the chargers, I either use the Shoshine universal charger or the Ultrafire rapid charger (both are also bought here at DX) and they both are working just fine.
All in all, I highly recommend these batteries. They're great for people who appreciate a little performance boost in their flashlights and they're also a great value for your money.

The perfect charger for my new 32650 Li-ion cells. It can charge three cells at a time. incidentally, there is a usb charging connection. An LCD display provides information on the state of charge. The charging current should be at 1300mA.
there are not too many alternatives to charge 32650 Li-Ion. therefore, the unit's ok
The delivery went smoothly again. three weeks after Germany. always happy.
