  • Cool Toy, Not Really Practical

-There's a fan on the hat. What's not to like about that?-The strap is velcro, which I prefer over the traditional clicky button things that wear out over time.-Solar powered, no need to replace battery.
Niche market due to its cons.
No point getting it. The breeze generated is insignificant. And it only runs in direct sunlight meaning you're getting beatened by the sun to run that fan. The opening doesnt provide shade either. If you're back is against the sun and must be out in the open, then I guess it's ok. Other than that, I dont see any other use for it.
  • Cool and funny...but it´s a gadget!

Very helpfull to teach childrens about the use of solar energy. The fun works perfectly and the construction is satisfatory.
It was cool if we could move the head of the fan, but unfortunatelly its fixed.
Cool and fun gadget, a good gift to give to a hothead friend, just to make fun with him (give it to your boss).

This is a funny little gadget that really works! When its really sunny the fan spins really fast! This item has a really good educational value for small children. When they have this item on their caps a sunny day they start to ask questions about how it is possible that the fan only spins when the sun is shining and not spinning when the sun is covered by clouds :-)
This item is perfect for different DIY projects. I bulk-ordered this item to get the bulk-rate discount.I took the devises apart and made different tests. With several solar-panels its possible to test how serial-connected versus pararel-connected solar panels affect the fans rotational speed. Also possible to charge different types of batteries after some DIY modding.
As i said before this item is :GOOD FOR LEARNING, EDUCATION AND DIY! :-)This is a good buy if you looking for cheap solar-panels and low-powered electrical motors for solar-panel DIY projects.I really recomment this item!!!!!
  • Works but could be a bit more powerful.

    - Easy to install.- Works - can feel air exhaust current when i place my hand at exhaust vent when the device is working.- Rubber seals useful in covering up peripheral gap in window when device is installed.- Plastic casing feels like it is bade from brittle plastic.
    - If you use this best you have window visors installed to prevent thief and help keep out rain.- Solar panels can be detached and repositioned (eg at dashboard) cos the sun does not always shines at the window side.
A but troublesome to install and uninstall device and seal strips when driving and parking. Device works but donno if it is because of the device or the big gap in the window that is keeping my car cooler (cos I mostly do not install the seal strips).
  • Believe it or not, it actually works! How well though? :S

This product does what it says! It's a plain back hat, so you don't have to worry about little logos from companies you don't really know being plastered all over it.There are no switches or batteries required (its got solar cells!), just put the cap on and go!
Since there isn't a strong airflow, it doesn't really make it practical to wear. When I ordered this, I assumed this would be the case and still purchased it because it makes a great novelty gift. :)
If its hot out, you probably don't want to wear a black hat anyway. The fan is a neat gimmick.
