  • good usb cardreader, UHS-I compatible..

    posted by Kirak

Not too big, simple plug&play use with a modern operating system. USB3.0 compatible. Good speed.Semi-Metal casing with black shiny "piano laquer" plastic on the sides with the connectors. It uses a Genesys Logic GL3233 USB3.0 card reader controller with SDXC and SD3.0 UHS-I support, so you can use high speed SD Cards with this thing. I used a 8GB Transcend Ultimate 600x SD Card and got 86MB/s readspeed with a NEC/Renesas uPD720200 Expresscard/34 Controller in my Laptop. 38MB/s in a native USB2.0 Port.I didn't use other cards than SD and microSD.
No other thoughts really, it's a very nice product. As mentioned, i didn't use any other cards than SD and microSD, but i am sure this product will perform accordingly with the other supported card formats.
A very good product for the price. Full speed with high speed UHS-I SD Cards, very very nice.
  • More storage with SanDisk 64GB Micro SDXC card

    posted by Zeke.Frazer

64GB SanDisk UHS-I with sequential write speed of ~10-11MB and read speed of ~18MB as seen using CrystalDiskMark, HDtune, ATTO benchmark with a builtin Notebook SDcard reader on Win7 64bit. Win7 sees a formatted exFAT size of ~60GB with a raw card size of ~63GB. Formatted card as FAT32 with 32K cluster size and installed it into my circa 2009 Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10i Android phone. Card is working fine.
If you do intend to use a 64GB SanDisk Micro SDXC card in a mobile phone/device, the card comes pre-formatted as exFAT and most probably will need to be reformatted to work correctly in a mobile phone which doesn't support exFAT format. Check your phone/device compatibility before purchase.
Good card that gives no reason to think the card is anything other than genuine.
  • Faster than a USB 2.0 reader

    posted by lrms73

USB 3.0 interface really improves speed. Can read both a Micro-SD and a fullsized SD at the same time.Faster than a SanDisk MicroMate (SDDR-113) reader (USB 2.0). With the same card on the same USB 2.0 port, it reaches 30MB/s reading, whereas the SanDisk reader would reach only 16MB/s.
On notebook USB 3.0 port I could reach around 40MB/s (reading) using SKU 208626 sustained, with some 50-60MB/s spikes (tested with HD Tune 2.55)
It is a compatible, fast reader, but maybe not so fast as advertised (or maybe my hardware can not reach that speed).
