rs232 to usb Customers Reviews

  • Great product

Top product! Great components, full datasheet available and modules (linux) / drivers (windows) in internet.
As said before, apart from the drivers (newest ones found @ http://www.prolific.com.tw/), Windows will keep changing the com port. So you have to figure out which usb port corresponds to which com port.In Linux just use the usbserial or any prolific module, and it will work flawlessly.
It has the best cost/benefits in all DX RS232/USB converters. Just buy it!Recommended product. Very cheap. Fully functional.
  • Handy and cheap device for all your USB-Serial conversion needs

Cheap, works great, can interface with 3.3V and 5V MCUs, includes cables to connect to your board.
Don't connect the power lines, this thing is powered from USB.
Unbeatable price and a perfect solution to connect your Arduino or similar board to the PC for debugging or data transfer.
  • The best RS232 to USB cable

Great quality... The RS232 connector is made by a good material, the cable has an excellent cover material too and there is a robe to protect the USB connector.Worked on my notebook with Windows 7 without problem and if needed it comes with a CD for drivers.
If you want a good quality product buy this one. I bought two usb-to-rs232 cables (see the other in the link below), but there is no comparisons, you will expend $4 more but it's worth, you won't regret.http://www.dx.com/p/rs232-to-usb-convertor-cable-2537
I'm very happy... a cable like this one here in Brazil you won't pay less than $25.Thanks DX
  • Good converter, crappy cable

A very affordable way to add a serial port to a USB-only computer. Converter itself is well-built and seems sturdy.
No place to screw serial plugs. Not really a con since torque on these plugs is usually low enough it won't come loose by itself.
If you need a converter to serial, this is one good purchase. Will work in Linux. Not sure about Mac.
