Works.Desktop Linux works with 0 issues, plug in and go (tested with current Ubuntu 12.04 kernel 3.2.0-30-generic)Embedded Linux (HW:TS7800, kernel 2.6.21) doesn't work. http://tiagovaz.wordpress.com/2008/01/04/using-a-hl-340-usb-serial-adapter-against-2623-linux-kernel/ leads me to believe 2.6.24 is likely to be the earliest kernel that will work without manual work.Windows 7 requires some effort to grab the drivers. Unsure if the drivers will be found by windows update but https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=239e3a317a793bfb&id=239E3A317A793BFB%21233 got me the drivers I needed (run the installer in the Vista folder, not the executable you can find if you do down a different path)
    I like pie
    Cheap, works.
  • Good TTL-RS232 stuff

Cheap and ready to use, you can even use the USB to power it. I'm using it with an Arduino NANO and was a piece of cake to start working with it.Build quality is well above other Dealextreme items.
A jumper to disable the LEDs could be nice in power saving applications.A dual version with a single MAX232 could be very useful too.
    None so far
  • Not cheap, but does the job well.

This is certainly the most simple way to connect your RS232 equipment (for example, the UPS management port) to your Arduino.
The best way to test it with Arduino is by using the SoftwareSerial library. This allows you to use Arduin's primary RX/TX pins to send/receive the debug output to your computer via USB, while SoftwareSerial is used to get the RS-232 data from this device.
Straightforward solution for those needing RS232 interface but feeling to lazy to put together their own level converter.
  • RS232 convertetr for CubieBoard, Raspberry Pi etc.

Contains MAX3232 RS-232 Line Driver Receiver.Converts RS-232 to levels between 3 and 5.5 Volt, which should be supplied on the Vcc line. Therefore it can be used with most boards. I am currently using it with my CubieBoard, but it should work fine with a Raspberry Pi as well. (I haven't tried it yet)
Very handy device to connect CubieBoard, Raspberry Pi, etc. to a real RS-232 port.
RS-232 to serial converter for 3 to 5.5 Volt.
  • Great item for your notebook!

Working like a charm... Tested with 3 different notebooks and five auto-diagnostic softwares that can work only with hardware rs232 port and not software like this... This one is fully compatible with all programmers on the market... The profilic USB-to-RS232 is absolutely useless if you have this! AND THE PRICE IS JUST GREAT!!!
None. If you bought it then you know if you don't then you didn't bought it :)
