Lightweight yet sturdy for a radio of this size. No loose plastic parts.
    Relatively easy to use.
    Decent sensitivity.
The software may be newer than covered by the manual; the latest manuals can be obtained in PDF.
Has a standard SMA-A female antenna connector.
If you're looking for a budget portable transceiver, go for it.
  • Very cost effective equipment

Cheap, Li-Ion Battery, Sold w/ Earset, Small footprint, dual band, have high power in VHF and UHF, have CTCSS and DCS encode/decode, ANI, etc
If possible I will ask to improve the operations menu and a suggestion for DX: spare batteries it's a good idea.
It's a vey nice radio for the price! I recommend it for someone that's wants a dual band radio for the price of monoband radio

The best choice for this price.
A very good performance. No worse than the Japanese radio Yaesu or ICOM.
Battery lasts for 3-4 days at the minimum transmission power, small talk and off for the night.
Works well in repeater mode with a shift 7.6 MHz
There is software that programmed the station is very easy and simple, that's enough to buy a http://www.dealextreme.com/p/usb-programming-cable-for-kenwood-wouxun-puxing-quansheng-walkie-talkie-66578?r=52034572

Good Quality, feels very High-End...The grey plastc-look-cover is made of metal and it looks very pretty in natura. It feels a lot better tha the plastc bf-888s. It seemstobe inside the same but this housing is much better.CAN HANDLE 6.25kHz Frequencies like PMR!Software is the BF-480, standart Kennwood-Plug-Program-cable...
I'll buy more of them, seems to be the perfekt Radio for me. If you loose obe or it breaks... Forget about it ;)
Good Radio for a good Price!

Works great was able to pick up a repeater on 146.00mhz out of the box.Has decent recption for the most part.
Small tiny little thing. If you re thinking its big based on the pictures it is about the size of the palm of my big fat american hand. The emergency tone is a weird addition. Sounds like a digital police siren.
Get it if you wanna play around with ham. I am impressed by its capabilities. its soooo tiny.
