Nice user interfaceConnects to the network via cable or WiFiWaterproofNice picture quality, price and resolution considered.Good build quality. Housing looks very sturdy. You have a lot of configuration options, and it works okay with Internet Explorer, Firefox and Android browsers!
Have not tried the waterproof 'feature' yet. (It has not rained since installation)Included tool makes it easy to find your camera and configure it remotely although it didn't found mine (running windows 7). It mentioned a strange default gateway (no idea where it got that from, via 'ipconf' everything looked okay) Using windows XP, it worked perfectly.
Good value for money. If you are going to use it in combination with security software, please do check beforehand if it is compatible.
  • Good tool, not the easiest to onstall and configure

Good quality colour pictures in daylight, automatic switch over to IR illumiation for night time working. The IR filter switches over automatically so there is no need to go to the extremes that I've seen some camera users have.No need to do the firware upgrade that is mentioned elsewhere (as at Sept 2012) as it came with the latest firmwareWorks on 240v altough it somes with US-adaptor
There seem to be many different SKUs on DX for this same item, - for example 57381 is the same as this but at a different price. There are quite a few changes I'd make to the software to improve the capability at little cost and the user manual could do with improvement.
Good value - much cheaper than similar devices elsewhere, but you do have to persevere to get it to work.
  • A nice cheap ipcam

Nice camera, good build quality. Documentation is very good. Can be connected to surveillance station. Can be viewed in all browsers Opera, Chrome, IE and Safari. Good camera stand in the box. Could be better and more robbust. Very easy installation.Works out of the box with dhcp server with no effort.
If you want a nice and cheap IP camera then this is a good choice. Software is very good.
If you are in the market for a wireless IP camera with IR, this is a good option
  • Nice IP camera

    - Real Apexis IP-camera- MJPEG compression- Works on WiFI, WPA - WPA2 PSK /TKIP- Network cable included- Nice web-interface, comes with DDNS to approach the cam from outside your home network.
    - Need to test if it's water / weather proof.
Nice IP-camera for outdoor usage. Not very expansive and quite easy to use.The IP cam comes with no IP default (0.0.0.0) so you need to use a tool that finds the cam based on MAC. The included tool on the disc doesn't work on Windows 7, so i downloaded the newer version of this tool from the Foscam website. This tool does succeed in locating the cam on the network en setting up it's IP adress. After that you can approach the cam by its web-interface by typing its IP in the URL bar in your browser.
  • Good camera for good money

Solid build, weather resistant, works as expected. Has WiFi which is a must, because you don`t want to have cables all over the place :) Night Vision works well, motion detection is adjustable from 1 to 10. I think 1 is easy trigger, while 10 needs really much movement.
I recommed shipping via EMS because the first i ordered arrived dead and had to send it back do DX for a replacement. The second arrived well, allthou there is a rattle inside it. And i don`t think that this is a Kinder Surprise rattle. Might be a plastic piece, judging from the sound, so i`m confident about the function.
I want to plant them all over my place, since they are motion triggered (if you want) and the internal program can manage up to 9 of those in one convenient window.
The camera has a lot of options, like sending email in case of trigger etc etc... can`t list them all, too many :)
