  • Hot shoe mount problems, otherwise fine

    posted by Cyrena

Lights tipper works as advertised. There's a shiny reflective surface held out in front of the pop up flash that bounces light up to use the ceiling as a reflector. Tipper does a good job of catching all of the flash so that it doesn't blow out the edges.
Of course this item works best when there are low ceilings or walls nearby to bounce light off of, and you will need to bump the exposure on your camera to compensate for having less light.
It's a little bit expensive considering the low build quality, but it will get the job done. If they fix the mount problem, it would be a fine product.
  • Good macro ring lens, very flexible

Ultra easy of use, just select appropriate front lens adapter, select light mode and shoot, if you have it turned on, TTL metering will work ok, some intensity levels to choose from, uses inexpensive batteries, produces bright light, with no unexpected shadows. See pic of fern taken with this flash.
A very good price for a nice macro ring flash. the possibility of use as a light, make it useful at distances of a couple of meters at night, solid construction and a range of lens adapters to use all of your lenses. With Nikon D90 flash coupling works ok.
Useful if you do macro photography on dark places or to get even, frontal illumination. It takes some experimentation to configure proper aperture / speed with manual lenses.
