    * Works instantly - simply attach an EN-EL3e (or another compatible battery) and start taking vertical shots more easily.
    * 8 Frames per second on the D300s with 8-AA sized batteries !
If you would like to try out a grip and not sure if you need one - this is your grip.
If you plainly looking for a grip and not willing to pay for the original brand - this one's for you.

The price of course! The original nikon parts are more than expensive. It is a good idea to built in the charger port with the BL-3 part. That means You do not need to buy the really expensive nikon carger.
Building quality is maybe not the best. I do not think it will survive a fall into a hard floor or so. But the price makes up for that. :-)
Finaly I can shoot 8 photos per second with my nikon D700. The nikon parts needed for this costs more than 100 times moore.4 stars for the low price.
  • works like expected

    - much cheaper than the original MB-D80- good quality- shutter button has 2 noticable stages for focus and release- when used with EL3e both battery slots are recognized by camera- no "funny" translations in manual
    - personally think this one is better than the cheaper ones here at DX
    - don't forget to adjust the battery type when using with AA batteries (menu d12). With default settings to Alkaline but NiMH batteries inserted, the battery indicator show nearly empty even with fully charged batteries.
  • Very well made

    - Built with very good materials- Useful use with the AA batteries in case of emergency- Very useful remote control ir even without a battery grip.
    - I advise to use only original batteries with nikon or AA battery- To remove the battery cover of nikon d3100 should tilt it to 15 degrees and pull it
    - I bought it because I thought it worked with not original batteries nikon, but unfortunately it does not work.

Great build quality, comparable to what a genuine MB-D80 grip would feel like. The shutter button has a great feel and is not "sloppy".Door mechanism secures tightly, and the AA battery carriage is well-built.
Even has the holder for the camera battery-door, just like the Nikon version.
If you're looking for a simple, quality grip, with all the features of the Nikon MB-D80 this is the best one for the price, for sure.
