  • Fits and works well

This little diffuser fits on the SB400 though I recommend putting a little piece of the loop side of velcro on either side to make it fit more snugly. It evenly diffuses the light and allows coverage out to at least a 16 mm lens. (I did not test it wider).
The only negative I have with this (as I do with the more expensive name-brand versions) is that it takes up room inside the gadget bag. Nikon used to make flat diffusers that would snap into the front of the flash. The SB-400 does not have that option. This is a good work-around for little money.
Every SB-400 owner should get one of these. I bought two just in case I broke/lost one. So far, so good. The Maha 4xAA cell case fits nicely inside the diffuser so that helps conserve space in the gadget bag.
  • Good battery grip

Solid work.Good quality of materials.Useable.Easy to handle.
It fits really well under the camera without leaving any gaps. Using the camera horizontally the grip is improved with room for all the fingers to wrap around the camera & grip. Works perfect. The vertical shutter release button fells like the original camera button, but the vertical grip is a bit box-like. ?omfortable rubber pad. Easy to read instructions and schemas.
Very good battery grip. Seems like native part. Best buy practice.
  • Good buy for close-up work

    - It's very cheap compared to other ring-flashes on the market.- It gives enough light for your macro-needs.- It's got a continous-light option for when it's too dark to focus.- You can choose to light from one of the sides, good for when you want to manipulate shadows.- It's very easy and intuitive to use.
It probably wont give off enough illumination on portraits unless you plan to use shorth focal lengths and get close to the subject, but for close up work this is just fine.
You can get at least 10 of these for the price of one similar one from regular shops. Excellent value for money!
