  • Cute small useful charger

Very nice adapter, it has compact dimensions so it fits perfectley in the plug, without any part that comes out. It allows also to eventually close the cover if your car has one on the cigarette lighter plug. It has also a green led that allows you to know if it is still on. 1 Ampere is perfect to charge also the newest smartphones (that requires 1 Ampere of current) without any problems. for this price is almost given away.
I'd buy one just in case you have low battery and need your phone on the road.

I do have to say I love the color, which was the reason I bought it. It seems to be working good enough for my needs, which is to charge my phone in the car. As I have a tendency to loose suff like these, I just bought a few more. For under two dollars it is a bargain. Here at home a thing like this costs over ten euros. I have not measured the current it gives, nor will I, but for phone charging, it is good enough.

There are several features of this item that I would point out:- Easy to install- the ring goes on the steering block very tight and it stays tight even during all vibrations- I like the cover in case of rain and also special cover for USB plug in case of rain- it supplies enough power to Samsung S2 for use of navigation and music- the installation on the battery is easy and the cable is long enough
I do not know about the security fuse but for now it is holding. I like the design and the size of the device.
I use the device on BMW F800R and it is working perfectly. I used Louis solution before but this is much more elegant and useful device. I would recommend the purchase very much. The device was a little bit more expensive that the louis one but worth the few extra euros.
  • works well

Fits socket well, 2 ports, solid cable connections
I don't believe both ports supply the same amperage. One is 2 amps the other is 1. Would be great if it didn't matter, but for the price it is better than the old one port/1 amp versions
Bought 2 would by more if I had the need.
  • works, but not for iPod

    - looks decent for a cheapo- led power light- 500mA- fuse in the unscrewable tip
So here's the deal. I bought this to charge my iPhone (3G) in my car. Easy enough, I figured - get this and a data cord (sold here for like $2) and I'll be golden for something like 1/3 the price of a regular iPhone charger, plus I'll have the ability to charge other USB devices.Well, it didn't work. I thought it was DOA (couldn't see the light go on, although it turns out it's hard to see), until a post on the forums tipped me off -- the iPhone (the recent ones at least) don't like to charge over a power-only USB connection. So, here's what to do, for you handy cheap iPhoners out there (this probably applies to all other cheapo USB chargers):-- take the thing apart (I managed this by unscrewing the tip, taking out the fuse etc., and removing the metal ring holding it together, then prying the halves apart until it popped)-- this is the magic: solder the USB data pins together. It's the middle two pins that aren't connected to anything. This notifies/fakes out the iPhone that it's connected to a proper USB port.-- put the thing back together-- merrily charge your iPhone!
Didn't charge my Creative Zen even after the fix, but that thing's kind of screwy too, so who knows. Good buy if you know what you're doing and aren't above a bit of fixin'.
