  • a good product.

it is the cheapest Mini 8 x 8 Red LED Display i have found. Other products similar like this costs at least 10 dollars. It is easy to use with your DIY projects with arduino or raspberry pi (or another). It works fine. A good product with a great price.
So you need a lot of wires to plug all the pins, i suggest you, to use a controller like the mcp23017 or something similar like this (with a only mcp23017 you can use both Mini 8 x 8 Red LED Display at the same time).
    none.
  • Red and blue light, perfect for plants growing

Works great.A lot of lightLow consumptionRed and blue light wich is the best color spectrum to assimilate chlorophyllVery lightweyght
The item has 4 screw holes and 2 holes more, I suppose that the 2 extra holes are to connect the cablesThe back side is coated with copper
Bright light but so much concentrated at a given point. Useful color light: blue and red color (460 nm and 680 nm ) have the appropiate wave lenght to be absorbed for the plants

All the LED's work, except for one row. I think this was caused by my experimenting while trying to find the pin layout. The product was probably fine. Luckily I do not need all 8 rows for my project. I intend to use this for a 2 digit display.
    I received a 16pin version.By testing I found that it was connected in the following way:Rows (+): pins 6, 2, 7, 1, 12, 8, 14, 9Cols (-): pins 16, 15, 11, 5, 10, 4, 3, 13The bottom text says:pin--45.72--0.8NL23881A
I would but one of these again if I needed it.

Incredibly easy to solder due to the extended legs with through holes. Quite bright. Cool runningSeems to be the correct colors for plant response
I received 4 of these just a few days ago. Currently running a 19.5V constant voltage supply, 3.3 OHM (10 W) resistor, and then two grow lights in series. The lights are affixed to a 3/8" thick plate of Al with an old P4 heatsink on the other side. Ran for 8 hours with minimal heat buildup and the basil seemed to respond well (went from curved towards the window to vertical while on)
Much cheaper than purchasing a combination of 8 red and 1 blue LED, and so far seem to be functioning as expected.
  • Bright LEDs

These are super bright RED LED modules. With only a 10 Watt dissipation, it is really easy to mount to a small heat sink with a small fan and not worry about over heating the modules. These modules would make fabulous emergency back lights. By keeping the amperage below 500ma, a smaller heat sink would be required and a simple constant current source could be constructed using a 78LM05 voltage regulator and one resistor. No fan would be required
    None - Just great LEDs
Bottom line, for the money, these are awesome LEDs. They can be used in interesting DIY projects like LED communications or theme lighting.
