  • bringing the light for an alkaline AA torch

    posted by brightrodranger

    * Bright* Uses Alkaline AA batteries fine (NiMH work beautifully too)* Good range of modes (Med = 70% of Hi, Low = 25% of Hi)* gaskets seem to fit and seal well* Threads are smooth and seemed lubed from supplier* Smooth reflector = longer throw (Easily 120-150M on high)* Aluminum body is robust and not easily damaged from dropping (verified this the hard way by accident)
This torch is my new favorite - it eats AA size Alkaline (Though not very long runtime on HI) which means finding batteries both near and abroad should be easier. Tried it on a 18650 with an adapter, no apparent gain over 3xAA NiMH or Alk. in terms of brightness. Haven't measured the brightness, but believe it to be somewhere in the 550-600 Lumen range on High.
Finally! A decently bright, Smallish form factor light that doesn't require exotic batteries and chargers - Here it Is! Buy 2, they are worth it, even at the sub $30 price! Load one up with good alkalines and leave in your car's G.B.H. kit...

First test with AA lithium batts. Brighter than Coast HP7 and SKU: 134492 - but not 4x brighter. Daytime against the wall was noticeable, but only incrementally. The beam is very bright, spot to medium spread. The throw is a couple of hundred metres purely because of the power. Interestingly the SKU: 134492 lights up a tree at 200 metres with more definition because you can actually focus the beam down to the raw chip, it can throw a very sharp concentrated light-$11 less, 600 lumen less.. But, this light pumps out a ton of light and has a wider spill to go with the long beam - it fills a room with light. It can give you a headache if you catch a direct glance of it too often. Not too heavy either @ 228g (inc. 3xAA). It's a bit bigger than a Coast HP7-probably the next size up. Battery caddy doesn't have arrows for insertion-however the batts do. Practical use; it will light up a whole mango tree from below, every leaf with stark clarity. Pretty even beam, circles are not too bad.
Maybe a tad costly compared, but a good strong light regardless.
  • Small but powerfull flashlight

    posted by Pcosta77

    a) Very sharp focused light;b) The 5 modes of lightning can be very handy sometimes if you just want to save battery or just to use it some other way.c) Very nice build quality level, it doesn't get behind other flashlights that are much more expensive.
It would be a nice choice to make a complete pack with a pair of batteries.
So far all i can say is that it's a rugged flashlight, it fits great in your hand, great lighting and array focus, great build quality for the similar flashlights and of course a very good price.
  • Very bright lantern!

    posted by Mike929

The bright. Very pleasant to the touch. The strong corrosion-proof case. A reliable design.
It is a pocket projector. It would be very useful, if not so strongly heated up. The manufacturer of the given lantern not too strained a brain, counting a heat transfer. So the area of its application is difficult for defining. If only in the winter in the street in a frost...
Such lantern is pleasant for HAVING, but if I knew that it so overheats, I wouldn't buy it. And the price is obviously overestimated.
  • Absolutely amazing output for its size

    posted by gordoonng

    - Actualy output is around 850-900 lumens, which is still amazing- Smaller than you think- Fits the palm of hand- Shorter than my cell phone- Really small with an extremely bright output- Zooming function extremely useful- Clean light cut-off
It can be smallerThe flashlight is really bright. Its amazing how this can be so bright for this size
Get it. Its worth it. For its price, you cannot go wrong. I paid around $23 for it and it came with two Ultrafire batteries and a charger
