  • Strong beam of light

Compact and lightweight for such a strong, powerful light. Good for bicycling, you can really see far away. Not too many modes makes it faster to choose the right one. Solid build quality.
Form of the light beam is longish: very good for driving. For a general purpose headlamp for camping, cooking etc. I would still use my old headlamp with much less power but broader shape of the light beam
    Great buy, good price/

    very good and powerfull flashlight.
    bright and powerful focus.
    HI and Low modes.
I don´t measure the time of autonomy of the batteries yet.
I will modify it to turn it waterproof, adding ate least 5 o-rings, to use on my diving adventures.
    I have a 250 lumnes waterproof (sku13464), a 200 lumens (ultrafire 501-sku 1315) and waiting for a 900 lumens Aurora P7 (sku 14451).
This is a great and complete set of flashlights.
    I like all of then.
    Thanks to DX.
  • Bright and qualitative

I've already purchased one to replace simple ctyptone GU5.3 lamp, and versus to another 2 common energy-saving lamps in that chandelier this one looks a winner: more bright, it takes very long time for energy-saving lamps to flare up... At last I replace all the lamps to this ones - and I don't regret. Btw, it is VERY energy-saving!
If I have more places to use these lamps, I'll definitely buy this one.Keep in mind, that it is bigger than common GU5.3 lamps (it has bigger diameter), so I had to remove my decorative holders. But this lamp has rather good framework (solid with radiator), so it isn't a problem.
    Worth buying.
  • Efficient, small, protected

Have bought one for testing because of its size approaching normal bulb, so you can put in older devices.
Used for light outside linked to a detector (protected of rain). this bulb is put inside an old enclosure supporting only "old" bulb size, we are so happy to have it instead of a cfc economic one which has obliged us to remove the top of the decorative part of the lamp. Now he decoration is back in place
Moreover, as it's led, it light up directly (used to light the house door).
    Omnidirectional light
    PROTECTED SMD
As said, protected of rain, but not suffering of staying outside (has proved to resits to freeze and humiity up to now)
Will buy some other for replacement of old economic bulb when they will be down.
This one is giving lot of light, no real heating, in old kind size limitation, this is very good :-)
  • Not quite as bright as expected

Fairly straightforward to use. I had no problems working with it. The only problem I had was my own fault -- I accidentally connected 42V to the red channel of one of the plates and destroyed it in a blaze of glory.
A wide range of colors can be produced, as expected. Packaging is pretty robust -- it came wrapped in a bubble pad.
The polarity is not marked in an obvious way. Here's how it was marked on the ones I got: The lead with a hole punch in it is the anode -- it's to be connected to the positive terminal of a power supply.
A heatsink is probably needed if you run it continuously at full power. I use a 110mm-diameter heatsink per plate. The back of the heatsink becomes hot to touch after 1-3 minutes at full power (350mA per channel), hot enough to burn my finger if I touch it for 10-20s. These LED plates are quite nifty, but the bulky heatsinks are not so fun. In a few years, maybe technology will increase LED efficiency sufficiently so that much smaller heatsinks can be used instead. Hopefully.
For better heat conduction to the heat sink, I think they could have made the bottom surface flatter and smoother, but I don't think it's a big deal.
I think it's good value for money at the price I got it for.
