  • white 5 mm leds with some more power

    posted by lasermanathome

white led in normal housing (5mm) but with more lightoutput when the max current 6omA is used.
When they are 1/2 watt, they must be able to handle about 150mA.I have not tried this. The light is about 8000K so a little bluish.DX should check the max current and give the right Wattage, now there is a conflict between the power and the VXA (3.5VX.06A=0.21W) quite a difference!
I advise DX to check and do the math so correct info can be given.By viewing inside the led , the dye is bigger than normal, the reflector is not, so the reflector is completely filled with dye, it is not possible for me to check the measurement of the blue ledcristal.I think it is not the intention to do the homework for DX but is is NOT said that the led can't handle 1/2 Watt , or can........
  • Very bright

Exactly as advertized. Came in a sealed mylar bag with all five. When tested, Unit was very very bright -- testing show forward voltage 3.2V
Good Light Emitting Diodes -- very bright for a compact size. Currently I am using these in a project to illuminate an area of 20 cubic feet (.5 cubic meters) from solar recharged cells.
Great for small spaces where maximum night is necessarily with a small current draw.
  • You can use this as DRL lights

    posted by karl1960

The lights are powerfull and bright enough to be used as Daylight Runtime Lights (DRL) as replacement for the foglights. I used them for a Toyota Aygo.Another pro is the good stable building quality
The lights are cold (blue-ish) white. Before I build them in, I did measure the power they took at 12 Volts, but it's a while ago and I have forgotten the values. But I remember that is was close to the advertised 7.5 Watts. When run in a car (not 12 Volts but more 13.8 with engine running) I'm almost sure you get your 7.5 Watts
I am happy with these lights, and I will recommend them.
