  • Useful for small projects

Price. It includes a solution of a LCD display and control push buttons in just one module. There is no documentation but fortunately this module is very used so you can find tons of source code about how to use it.
For professional project I would use separated components but this module is ok for testing or doing home projects.

Picked up this display for ease of use. Having limited number of pins on an Arduino Ethernet, this seemed the best fit. With a little digging (the label on the box :) ) was able to find an Arduino library and schematics. They can be found here:http://www.elecfreaks.com/store/i2cspi-lcd1602-modulewhite-on-blue-p-315.html?zenid=1f0fbuffusqbnellv4ktl0ts27

This is a great board for start programing the STM32F103ZET6 CPU (ARM Cortex – M3 MCU). The touch LCD is good enough for learn how to program it.
Board comes with preloaded demo so you can see how the LCD works and its capabilities. You will need a ARM JTAG that is not coming with the board.
Nice for starters and if you want to enter in the world of ARMs.
  • Cheap LCD to use in embedded projects.

    - Nice view;- Small LCD;- Easy to use and to get code examples;- A lots of library on internet.
    - Because of the interface (SPI), you can use in different kind of microcontroller and microprocessors, you need just to adapt the libraries.- You can find on you tube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABED5zdw4n4 an test that I made, getting the code on openenergymonitor.org.
    - If you want to test a small lcd for embedded projects you can buy it.
  • Quite nice kit for people interested ARM-development!

CD included with examples, schematics and software. Useful display. Works quite well to develop with on Linux. Display board have SD socket. USB cable included. Works well with open source tools.
I haven't looked at the built in firmware upload solution. I just bought a JTAG-adapter (sku: 149039).
With an external programmer/debugger and open source tools it works really well with Linux. I use the open source "Summon arm toolchain" and a JTAG-adapter. Together they let me do rather advanced debugging.
