  • Works like a charm!

    Very good construction
For reference, it works perfectly with the standard LiquidCrystalDisplay library from Arduino, but it is necessary to change the constructor call from the standard:#include <LiquidCrystal.h>LiquidCrystal lcd(12, 11, 10, 5, 4, 3, 2);to the (checked and running):#include <LiquidCrystal.h>LiquidCrystal lcd(8, 9, 4, 5, 6, 7);beside of this, anything I have checked it works.
Nice value for price. More yhan I expected.
  • Quite nice kit for people interested ARM-development!

CD included with examples, schematics and software. Useful display. Works quite well to develop with on Linux. Display board have SD socket. USB cable included. Works well with open source tools.
I haven't looked at the built in firmware upload solution. I just bought a JTAG-adapter (sku: 149039).
With an external programmer/debugger and open source tools it works really well with Linux. I use the open source "Summon arm toolchain" and a JTAG-adapter. Together they let me do rather advanced debugging.
  • Works like it should

Easy to use. Works as advertised. Nice display of battery life. Small. Easy to solder leads to. Have used it with a few different batteries from 900mah to 4400 mah and it has worked fine.
I'd recommend it to anyone who likes to build their own. I will be ordering more to build my own set of rechargeable heated glove/shoe inserts.
If you need it, get it.
  • Nice and cheap graphical LCD

    posted by danielfiser

This is a cheap and nice graphical LCD board, easy to use with Arduino. It hasnice and very bright white backlight. Its brightness can be adjustedprogrammatically. The board can display graphics and text.
Great step-by-step guide is available at "http://learn.adafruit.com/nokia-5110-3310-monochrome-lcd?view=all". Note that pinout labels differ between this and Adafruit's board (DX vs. Adafruit):LED = LEDSCLK = CLKDIN (MOSI) = DIND/C = D/CRST = RSTSCE = CSGND = GNDVCC = VCC
Get this LCD if you want to display graphics and text in your Arduino project.
  • Great to have, but could be improved

    posted by kunakos

Cheap, well-built, great price! Sits nicely on arduino. only one pin needed for all the buttons (resistor ladder). Works with LiquidCrystal library.
I used mine together with a data logging shield and a wireless module, everything fits perfectly. Almost all pins used, everything works (RTC, SD card, NRF24L01, LCD, butons), not a single wire needed. Great setup for portable prototypes!
If power consumption is not an issue (not on batteries) and you have enough free pins, this is the shield to get. one of the cheapest LCD options for arduino.
