  • What a great product

So i bought this PCI-E to USB 3.0 Host + All-in-1 Card, so that i have USB 3.0 on the front of my ASRock X58 Extreme3, because i only had USB 3.0 2x on the back.Installing was really easy, and installing the driver from the CD was also very easy.So i had to plug it in a PCI-E 1.1 x1 slot because my 2x PCI-E 2.0 x16 slots are full, so i have only a PCI-E 1.1 x4 slot and a PCI-E 1.1 x 1 slot, so i used the PCI-E 1.1 x1 slot.So i put my old OCZ Vertex SATA II 2.5" 30GB in my USB 3.0 casing and plug that in one of the USB 3.0 slots, and tested it with ATTO Disk Benchmark and i get Write: 121MB/s and Read: 173MB/s.Thats not bad for a PCI-E 1.1 x1 that gives max 250MB/s, maybe i will get 250GB/s if i had a newer SSD.But with PCI-E 2.0 1x slot you have to get 500MB/s Max.Also tested my 32GB MicroSD card Class 10 and get the max out of it, Write 15MB/s Read 20MB/s, the Memory card slots use a USB header on the motherboard.
If you have a older motherboard and don't have USB 3.0 or do not have it at the front, then this is perfect for you, and as bonus you get a memory card readers also.
Must have if do not have USB 3.0 on your motherboard, or do not have USB on the front of your Tower (computer).

    Great price.
Transfer speeds seem as good as other readers I have.
One reviewer has written as a pro that it only shows up as one drive. Mine shows up as several drives, and I see this as a pro!
I bought it because it has the USB port as well, and I needed this to replace the ones that got broken during a party.
The first one I received was faulty: when it was plugged in, the PC refused to POST. The second one is fine, but there do seem to be more QA issues with this item than others on the site.
I can get it to read and transfer from USB pendrive to CF card at the same time. Haven't tried card to card yet.
It has a plastic housing, so for me, the build quality isn't fantastic, but for the price you probably can't grumble.
As with other readers I have, it needs a bit of care to engage the CF card properly in the pins in the reader.
Yet another great little bit of kit from dealextreme. Although I haven't given it many pros compared to the cons and the other thoughts, that doesn't mean I'm not happy with it!
  • Great, but slightly too big

The build seems excellent, all metal (except front), comes with all cables and screws. Has 4 USB outputs in the front, plus slots for several card types (inclyuding SD, XD, MS, CF and T-Flash)
Nothing comes out to me now, really.
Seems like an excellent choice, with its 4 USB 2.0 outputs + slots for the most usual memory card types, but avoid it if your computer has a rigid (in my case, all metal) 3.5" slot.
  • Nice for the Price

This really is a nice little product for the price. The build quality is good too. As with most memory card readers, the slots where more then one type of card goes in feel flimsy.
Reads memory cards almost as well as my $30 reader. Transfer rate is slightly slower, but still works good.
If your in need of a memory card reader that will do the job for cheap. Heck, throw away your floppy drive .

I do suggest that you buy the $11 one like this if you can though, it appears to work slightly better.
  • Good addition to a standard PC

Good to use as a card readerOnly takes up one USB port on the motherboardAlso has 3 USB ports - is actually a HUB + Card readerAudio jacks are welcome if you have an older style case with no front panel audio jackseSATA port is useful
I installed it in my brother's computer computer but he only uses the audio ports
Good combination of card reader, USB hub and audio ports.
