  • Great for XboX360 HDD Hack

    posted by slimbutdim

Does the job i needed it for! Cheap as chips!
I bought this because my sata pci card wasnt being detected in Hddhackr. Didnt want to pay for new pci card so bought this because it is cheaper! Didnt know if it was going to work but for a couple of quid who cares! Popped it in and hddhackr picked up the wd600bevs drive first time and flashed with no probs!
If you have an older PC without on board sata and your pci card wont recognize your xbox360 hdd then get this!It worked for me!
  • Good Product but ....

I've used this product to salvage several IDE drives from an older computer. Works like a charm with Western Digital drives.
Good for hard drives but you may have reduced performance with some DVD writers.
Excellent product for the money. I'll use it in the future for another IDE hard drive that I'm looking to salvage in my new PC.
  • what a steal

    - zero config other than cable fiddling
    - uses a floppy power connector, so you can finally use one of those power supply outputs meant for the floppy no one uses anymore.
    - comes with cables!
a great answer for modern motherboards that have only one IDE channel. my Asus mobo has one IDE channel and like 6 SATA channels, and i have one IDE HD, one SATA HD, and TWO IDE optical drives. that means one optical drive was out in the cold before i got this - but now, i can use an old DVD drive as a dedicated game disc drive!
  • A little lifesaver

I't easily assembled. All the pieces go in the logical places, you stick one end in the wall socket, one end in the USB-port and all the stuff in the middle in your harddisk and you're good to go. A driver CD (Win98!) is supplied, but most computer work without it anyway.
And it supports one touch backup!
After removing a drive from my PC, I found out it contained important data. This piece of gear is a lifesaver...
A perfectly affordable temporary solution.Very handy to have one on the shelf.
  • Very necessary thing

Very necessary thing. It works as expected, everything isok. Cheap, reliable, simple to use. Can I try a CD-ROM, which is probably faulty :-)SATA IDE disk drives without problems. A little trouble with notebook drives ...Power supply will hopefully meet a performance, I assume permanent use in the repair PC ...
Not described in the manual backup feature, I do not know how to use it.
