  • cheap SSD

    posted by omega256

    - As fast as my SD card is with a PDA (9 MB/s)
    - Fast access time, less than 1ms
    - Very cheap
    - Easy to use
    - Three very bright LEDs (Power, SD, Access)
So all in all it's a very nice thing. Very fast, easy to use, and the cheapest SSD you can build. 4Gb SSD at around 20$.
I can't check if, SDHC works.
  • Great way to reuse old hardware

Rather cheap way to reuse an old hard drive from a music player inside a laptop or other device where less generated heat and less power consumption are worth more than speed. I managed to install an old Toshiba MK2004GAL drive into a Dell D810 laptop.
Ideally, the board should be about 2 millimeters shorter in order for it to fit snugly in a 2.5" bay together with the Toshiba MK2004GAL (no idea about other drives).
Nice cheap way to reuse old hardware. Determining the alignment hole/pin isn't too hard, but it would be nice if the pin was already clipped at the factory.
  • Works great

    - Works great with a Samsung ZIF SSD drive in a Dell Latitude X1 laptop.
    - Small enough to pack into the space freed up in the target laptop because of the Samsung SSD being smaller than the Toshiba hard drive it replaces.
    - Very cheap and ok quality.
Not the fault of this device, but the Samsung SSD works in UDMA66 and so reverts to PIO mode when used in the Dell X1, since it only supports UDMA33 & UDMA100
If you need to put a zif SSD in an old laptop this is the best solution.
  • Great way to fix Ipod with bad HDD

Does exactly what its supposed to do
I looked at some on ebay and they were higher price, then I realized "I should check Dealextreme" sure enough I found them here and they were half the price.
I've fixed 2 3rd Gen iPods with these adapters, friends just give them to me because they're junk. Pop the hard drive out and replace it with one of these and a CF card (make sure you get the connection from ipod to adapter correct) presto you have a decent ipod that cost you <$20
  • Works great to hook up 5g iPod

    posted by dmbfan

Great price - how can you go wrong?Did the job to help fix my iPod.
I successfully used this to hook up a 5g iPod hard drive to my PC to run Spinrite. Worked great.
If you have 5g iPod disc problems, you can't afford not to pick this up. What have you got to lose? Other connectors like this, across the net, can be very expensive.
