  • It does what you expect

It fits well to the DVD-rom slot, no chanche to slip out (in a D630). Assemling is simple, I got some screws in the packet as well, which was more than enough to fix the hdd into it. There is a small black plastic bearer, which is not on the pics, to hold steady your hdd and makes easier the assemblation.
I looked around many places for an optibay, but I did not want to spend that much on it (yeah I am cheap). This is a good trade-off, does it's work, even it is just DVD module converted to an optibay.
As it has about half prize compared to the cheapest similar product in my country, it's totally worth to buy. If you don't care about the small gaps, cheap materials just want it to hold your hdd in your laptop, it does it's work. You shouldn't expect much for your small money, but it works well.
  • No S-ata power cables

Cheaper than at any retailerFunctions just as goodMakes any harddisk externalDoes the same for any DVD/CD/BR drive.Supports S-ata as well as good old IDE for 2.5" and 3.5" harddisks
None. Device does what it has to do.
Good buy for the money. Too bad the S-ata power cables arent attached.
  • Great product

Good appearance...Speed ??USB 3.0 is very good...Support for IDE and SATA in a single device is excellent...Product of excellent quality...Working with all OS - Mac, Windows, Linux without any problem including Windows 8 64bits...
I have not tested the backup button, but the rest worked perfectly...
Indispensable accessory for notebook users, allowing to have multiple hard disks extras...
  • It works, works, works

It's small, it works very well, it's got a built in LED status light. The price is cheaper than I could find anywhere for something like this
Some people wonder why you would use this. Most laptops, where you typically find 44pin 2.5" drives, don't usually have room for these adapters. The true use, though, is in embedded systems that utilize these drives. If you need one you know that though.
  • Does what it says on the tin

Installing the hard drive to the chassis was a snap and the IDE-SATA interface works very reliably. Very affordable price must also be considered a pro.
There isn't much to say about a device this simple. However, I saved a lot of money compared to some other solutions on the market.
If you're in the market for a hard drive chassis that fits in place of your IDE optical drive, this is highly recommended. Even with the issue mentioned, the usability value is far higher than the money it costs.
