  • awesome :)

Fantastic value and very solid simple design.Light output is very decent, enough for general use. The focus flexibility allows working on short range things (1-3m) as well as being able to see in distance. The +/- labels on the tube ensure you want insert cell wrong way. Button is reliable as works well. I had no heat issues, although temps outside are near freezing. The light may bounce up and down some depending on how you walk; not much in my case. I got used to it and don't notice it any more.
The extras, bag and charger make it a great value. Charger is simple but works well. It is bit faster (around 600 mA rate) than my older one, same design (older is 300 mA).
    Awesome value and good light.
  • A excellent headlamp with a useful flood.

    Great flood, good spot beam,[email protected]: Flood SpotLi-ion(high): 60 630 Ni-MH(high): 24 266 Li-ion(low): 17 168Ni-MH(low): 6 73
Strap is a bit fiddly when changing batteries, but not a real issue.
An excellent headlamp, good value for money.
  • Great light for that price

Durable and easy to use. Good bright light, great help to outdoors in dark winter mornings. Battery lasts for good time (keep couple 18650 loaded anyways.) Headband keeps battery and light on place.
Light dimms when battery runs out, would be better to burn full strength and then shut down. Batterypartment is bit big and the flashing led is useless without charger.
For now, good bang fo a buck. Future show how it will last.
  • Lightweight universal light

    1) Lightweight. Only one AA battery and little optics.
    2) Works with NiMH accumulator, Alkaline AA battery, Li-Ion accumulator and even can work work with AAA battery but inside contact fails sometimes.
    3) Built-in stabilizer that draws all energy from the power source and shuts down completely after that instead of continuesly dimming as the battery goes down.
    4) Has two levels of light intesity and hardly useful blinking light. Intensity is lower by high frequency strobe (about 100 Hz) so no power is lost as in simple resister load regulators.
    5) Has a focusing ability
    6) Light angle can be adjusted from "into the sky" to "right on the nose" position.
It's the only one headlamp model on the date that works from a single AA battery and has a step-up DCDC logic inside. This DCDC controller instantly bring all this tasty features as emptiing the battery to the bottom, efficient light intensity regulation, accepting any voltage and battery technology and so on. I already consider this light as the best one for outdoor tracking, caving and so on, but better optics would have made it the one and only choice.
A continuous light power regulation will be useful for caves, when very little light is sufficient.
This light is electronically superior to other simple battery-resistor-LED lights. The internal DCDC step-up regulator brings in many features and simplicity of use. The optics is a clear drawback. If only the out lens could be placed closer to the LED a better flood light and efficiency would be archieved. So DX, hurry up and invent another lightweight light like this one with better optics.
  • Good headlight

-good illumination with focus ring to adjust spread of beam
-tried alternative multi LED (14 or more bulb verions) rechargeable brands - but nothing beats these lithium powered single bulb CREE lights , much much brighter
-would prefer a 2 mode action - low and high level as strobe lighting pretty redundant
-needs to cycle through all 3 modes to return to 1st mode
    Love it
