With this case, you can put another HDD on your notebook. An excellent choice for whose that w'd like to install a primary SSD disk for operaing system and a second drive as a storage.Considering that notebook normaly don't have more than one standard SATA connector, there`s a great idea to replace the DVD drive by this case.
A great alternative to install more than one HDD or SSD on a notebook.

Perfect fit to my HP Elitebook 8730W. I replaced my original hard drive with SSD and the old hard drive I put in this caddy. It is working just perfect, I can also select the boot or from SSD or from disk in the caddy. Very easy to instal the disk. You can replace it anytime with your DVD when you need it. Really plug and play. Also good build quality.
Should be better list of compatible models of HP laptops.
Very good product, I am satisfied.

Very good quality;fits perfect on my Early 2011 Macbook Pro 13";it has screws holes that fits the old DVD Bay perfectly; it has screws to accommodate the hdd very safely inside the case;100% recommended upgrade to your MBP
The Macbook Pro disassembly procedure to replace the DVD bay is not very easy, but with a little web browsing it's ok if you have some sort of experience with hardware maintenance.
Before upgrade to SSD I've upgraded RAM to 16GB, and definitely an SSD and a second (and large) HDD is way more better than just increase RAM amount.

    - Easy to installation of HDD & installation inside your notebook. Takes less than 10 minutes to complete.- Good build- Universal size, fits nearly every laptop
Since I don't use my DVD drive much I decided to buy a bay for my secondary 2.5" HDD to put it inside my notebook. So I ordere this item and replaced my DVD drive with it. Now I have two separate HDDs in my notebook and it is much more convenient and works much faster than it used to be, when I had it mounted via miniUSB cable.
Just make sure that you have the same interface on your 2.5" HDD (SATA, not IDE!) before you order it!
  • Broken 2.5' IDE HDD? Solution:HDD caddy!

    posted by pcmihnea

Unfortunately, after serving me for more than 8 years, my Fujitsu-Siemens S7010's IDE HDD finnaly cracked. There were many solution to my problem: IDE to SD-card, IDE to CF-card, SDD, USB flash, etc. But by far the ceapest (for me) was this: a SATA caddy! By chance I had a SATA HDD to spare, while a IDE one is very hard (and expensive!) to buy. It uses a Marvell 88SA8040 IDE to SATA 1.5GBps bridge Controller. Thus, the theoretical maximum speed is about 150MB/s (pretty decent).
It's extremely easy to install (I mean, the instructions are drawn directly on the product). The package contained 5 screws (you only need 4, but in case you lose one, they gave you a spare)
This is by far the most convenient method of reviving an old laptop with a broken HDD. Just be sure to pick the right size (9,5mm or 12,7mm)!
