  • Express Card Adapter for Laptop

    - Works fine - Doesn't protrude from side of laptop - Installation very easy, just put the Express Card into the laptop to run the cd drives and was soon working
As long as you've got the recent WHQL drivers, this should work fine on 32-bit or 64-bit Windows. I get a 90MB/s read speed from my Samsung S2 USB3.0 HD. I couldn't find any Mac or Linux drivers yet. The chip is a Fresco Logic FL1000 FWIW.
If you're running Windows and need a USB3.0 card, this one will work well.
  • Works seemlessly under GNU/Linux

I plugged it into my laptop then plugged my new USB3 external drive and there it was. Unplugging and replugging also seemed to work just fine. The drive was happy to pull all its power from the single USB3 connector even without using the extra power cable that comes with the card.
I have not yet tried to use the eSata part.
I like the fact that it does not stick out. Assuming the eSata part works as well, it's a great way to update a laptop's ports.

Work as I was expected. In my LInux (OpenSUSE 12.3) worked without any kind of hack or setup. Just pluged and turn it on my Desktop PC, and it worked.
It came with a mini CD ... With windows drivers I suposed, but I really didnd pay attention for it (as I said.. I'm a Linux user).
I really recommend.I didnt test yet with full speed, but in a preliminaries test, its works like a charm
  • Very good deal

    - Has four USB 3.0 ports (most others have just two)
    - Nice good build quality (no sharp edges, PCB isn't thin)
    - VIA VL800 chipset
    - Works immediately after installation of drivers
I inserted this 4-port USB 3.0 card into the PCI-E x1 slot on the motherboard of my PC (which has an ASUS M4A77TD motherboard) and upon installing the latest drivers in Windows the card worked immediately.
I have two USB 3.0 external hard drives (a WD My Book Essentials 2TB and generic 80GB 2.5") and both have fast data transfers (like 118GB of files from PC to 2TB external hard drive in an hour), which is great as I work with a lot of large files.
The latest drivers for this USB 3.0 card (as of Nov 2011) can be downloaded here, as it has the VIA VL800 chip: http://www.via-labs.com/en/downloads/firmware/V1.50B_WHQL.rar
If you have an available PCI-E x1 slot on your motherboard, and need an affordable upgrade to USB 3.0 with a decent amount of ports, then get this!
  • Driver cd inreadeable but card OK

-Card works fine though the usb3 socket seems a bit tiny.
-21 seconds to send a 1gb file to a generic USB3 enclosure for esata HDD. (52 sec on USB2, 180sec with usb3 bad driver)
Finaly, it appears that chip inside is a fresco one and Michael Ballack, amazon consumer, gives the best link in comments to find the latest drivers (2011 april). Thanks to him.
Good product if have time to search for drivers on the internet and practise english.
