  • A brilliant solution to run SATA3 drives on pre Sata3 Motherboards

    posted by snoopynz

Simple to install and set using the enclosed drivers on CDROMIt bought a huge increase in speed using Flight Simulator. I was frustrated with the slow file loading of the scenary files. Flight simulator loads hundreds of small scenary files which could take up to sixty seconds to load. Ysind this interface and a Solid State Drive, the simulator is flying within ten seconds.
An easy solution to running SATA3 drives on older motherboards

i need to watch out i dont accedently pull the entire thing whenever i get my cable out....
i currently only need 1 usb3.0 port and this product has 2 so im good for now, maybe later ill get around fixing the 1st port...("stretch" it abit to avoid the "ejecting the entire card" issue)
  • Very useful. A must-have for all those who play with electronics.

    - Compact design.- Can be powered with a USB cable.- Works with 5V or with 3.3V.- Power, RX and TX LEDs.- Comes with a 4-pin header cable.- Pins are labelled.
Based on the well-known MAX3232 chip.Don't get messed up with the RXD and TXD pins. The pin labelled RXD is the RXD of the RS-232 side, so it must be connected to the TXD of your TTL device, and vice versa. You may also be interested by these SKU:104325, 146784, 144192, 148963, 149589, 81872, and 101483.104325 seems identical to this one, but costs one dollar less. Maybe you should buy 104325 instead of this one.
Works fine.Everybody who deal with electronics should have one of these adapters. Can be used for example to flash routers which have a TTL serial port on their PCB, or to connect your computer to microcontrollers, etc.

As mentioned in my earlier review, the USB3 port works seamlessly in GNU/Linux, with hotplugging of both the USB device and the card itself.
Still haven't tried the eSata port.
Not perfect, but still very handy.
  • A true 2.0 usb hub.

    - Great price!- Windows 7 x64 recognized the ExpressCard as soon as I plugged in, no external driver installation needed.- Full 2.0 USB speed on the 4 ports (tested with a Sandisk Cruzer Micro flash drive, 80gb iPod Classic and 16gb iPhone 3GS sync).- You can plug and unplug as much as you like (to swap for another ExpressCard - in my case, a Firewire ExpressCard).
    - Tested on a Dell Studio notebook.
Great price for a 2.0 USB hub, perfect for those who need additional USB ports on their notebooks.
