  • Useful tool for DIY and help with automation

ready to use from the box, it has two separate rs232 instead of description (added in 1.78 fw). Brand device with the same functionality is 10 times more expensive
Placed in a plastic case. added an rs485 converter (max232+max485)on the second usart, and now it is a universal gateway for access to the industrial equipment)
if you need remote access to any device with serial port this is just exactly what you need.
  • Great Product

    - Really easy to setup (after the first global configuration - see "Cons"). My parents can do it now with just a push of a button.- Wifi has great performance (b/g/n)- Not much latency added to network performance (do not compare it to cable, though).
    - The LED display was a bit bright, so I covered it with a adhesive to not brighten my bedroom at night.- Does not work (as expected) through powerline filters. This is not an issue.
If you look for a device that really boosts the network range at home, buy it now.
  • 1Gb for a small price

Cheap and fast. It copied data from my synology NAS at 100MB (mega byte) per second, including overhead, that's very close to 1Gb (gigabit) per second.I tried on with my apple macbook air and macbook pro.
    None, i love it.
If you want/ need wired network on e.g. A newer macbook, which have no ethernet adapter, don't bother buying an expensive apple adapter. Usb3 is capable of 1Gb and so is this device. It's great
  • Works, low speed

    posted by JJenda

Works out of the box on Debian with kernel 3.2, recognized as "0fe6:9700 Kontron (Industrial Computer Source / ICS Advent) DM9601 Fast Ethernet Adapter".
The PCB is a bit weak, but this does not matter if you want to keep it in the original casing.
Not usable for turning my Raspberry Pi into a router because of the speed, but definitely good for some ad-hoc networks. For this price ideal.
  • Excellent Gigabit adapter

Avoid USB 2.0 bottleneck, reliable connection, flexibility to add new nics on existing system. Backward compatible with USB 2.0.
I use it on my improvised dockstation connecting gigabit lan + sound card + video (sometimes) + mouse/keyboard wireless receiver on a single USB 3.0 hub connecting to my notebook. I store many large files on other PCs and connecting tru gigabit make feel like they are on local storage.
