diy socket connector Customers Reviews

  • Good for PCB but not wire connection

    posted by yrnkrn

These are standard microUSB SMD sockets. Not much to say here.
microUSB sockets are great for projects since chargers are standard and everywhere.
These sockets may be useful to solder with PCB but not to wires "DIY" projects.
  • Cheap USB connectors

    posted by GeeJiiZet

Quite cheap with only about 0.12 USD a piece, but they work fine and can be soldered to any standard dot matrix prototyping circuit boards.
There are no markings which pin is which (VCC, D+, D-, GND), so make sure to double check the pin layout from external resources.
These are the standard female USB 2.0 sockets you see on computers. If you need to replace one or need some in your DIY projects, these are cheap and suitable for that. I can't vouch for their durability, though.
  • Great quality connectors

Same that Yaesu and Kenwood HF original plugs.High quality connectors.Works with:Yaesu FT-80cYaesu FT-747Yaesu FT-840Yaesu FT-890Yaesu FT-757 GX.Etc.Kenwood:TS-120sTS-140TS-450TS-440TS-850Etc.I use one to build a desktop microphone for my Yaesu FT-840 rig. I use other to build a packet radio/sstv/RTTY/digital modes for my rig too.
    Works all ok.
Inexpensive and great connectors. In my country (Argentina) I can buy only one female connector for that price.
  • Great for RS-485 serial

    posted by DJWK

I'm using this for serial communications between an Arduino an Raspberry Pi. It's a 'non-standard' plug just like my wirings so it's not getting accidentally plugged into something 'standard'. I also have one plug exposed to the elements for few months now and it has survived brilliantly.
If you need more pins, search this site for 'aviation plug'. There's at least a 6 and 8 pin version available.
Tested and used for serial communications(RS-485) and found working and useful. I have not run any large currents through this connector, so I have no experience using this as a power socket.
  • Very high quality USB ports

    posted by GreenTechNetwor

These are some real high quality USB ports. They feel very solid and don't seem to have any defects at all. There is no messy soldering or anything on them either. They came organized in a small tray wrapped in plastic.
Perfect for USB electrical circuit projects, or replace a faulty USB port on your computer.
If you enjoy making electrical circuits, these are perfect for you. At only $10 for 100 of them they're only 10 cents a piece! Doesn't get much better than that.
