  • Switching Regulator

    posted by Logsplitter

A simple device, no external components required. Output ripple is very low, as is heat as full output. No heatsink necessary even at continuous full output, (with 15 volts supply voltage).
The regulators can be combined with steering diodes to increase output current. The ripple does not appear to increase even when combining the output of 3 regulators.
An excellent stand alone regulator, especially for a USB power source. Have used more than a dozen for automotive cellphone chargers without a single failure
  • Kids are happy...

    posted by Lucask

Works as advertised! Installed one in the rear passenger seat of the car so that the kids have a charger port.USB cable end nice and long. Solid port won't get crushed easily.
Will buy more soon to add to the car. Since I only have 1 installed, the kids do complain when the other one is using it.
Great deal! Takes time to cleanly install in the car, not for someone that is not experience.Works great once installed.
  • Very good step up converter

    posted by keven91

Handles 5+ amps of current (all my supply can put out) and boosts voltage well. Good regulation. Measures about 91% efficient. Small and compact. Has decent heat sink.
Gets to 185 degrees F at ~3 amps input continuous at room temp (75 degrees).
Overall a nice little unit, but don't expect 5 amps continuous with that heat sink. For the price it can't be beat.
  • About what I expected

    posted by joshyboy

Unit advertised as 240W, I needed 100W so thought even if it supplies half of rated output, it's good enough for my needs.Have tested it up to 120W no trouble, unit sits at about 60-70°C. Input power is about 150W at 120W out.Looked at DC output on Oscilloscope, very smooth and noise free (forgot to check input rail).
Draws 45mA at idle with nothing connected. This may be significant for some.
Pretty sure it will do what I bought it for, if it fails I will update review.
  • Nice driver for 10W (3x3) LED

    posted by dielomat

It does what description says...using 12Volt source i measured 0,76A current with a 10W LED (3x3 type ) - thats almost exactly 9W.Driver gets warm, but ist still touchable without burning fingers after 1 hour running.
i think in warm environment it will be better to use a cooling plate.maybe tearing off the rectifier would give lower temps and higher efficiency
The driver is usable for 10w LED like SKU: 39957 Ill sure order some more soon.
