    build quality is really good!!
i bought this as a spare...but busted my led on an inova radiant series so decided to try to put this on....started to cut the star heatsink with a wire cutter..and try if it will work...but it didn't coz its grounding the wire connection with the remaining heatsink...so decided to grind of the remaining heatsink....after that tried it and surely enough it still lit up...still a bit deep on the inova pill but nothing some copper contacts won't fix
i definitely recommend this product....with the kind of abuse it was put under when i was working on it...it still worked...

Great LED , I have nothing negative to say , I licked it so much , I ordered another .
I used this LED for a Flashlight mod , I converted an old Energizer double barrel to Cree P4 , and cant be happier .
So many Cree's , this one was the cheapest , and for doing upgrades or Mods , I can highly recommend it . Nice and bright , easy to use , + - are clearly marked , and once more , nothing negative to say about the product .
  • Bright LED Upgrade

I installed this in an UltraFire C3 (with SKU 7880 as the driver) and can notice a big difference in brightness between this and the standard P4 LED even though I do not have the proper equipment to measure it. Compared to the standard C3 (with base driver) the Q5 has a slightly larger and brighter hot spot and a larger spill.
This a cheap way of upgrading an under performing flashlight and bring it in line with newer high-end models. If you have the skills to do this upgrade I suggest doing so.

easy to useeasy set uporiginal Cree led very very brightlike black light
some soldering skills must be neededtested at 350ma and 650maat 350 don't even get warm (about 25ºC)at 650 get little warm (about 50ºC) even dough must be mounted on a sink (just in case)
DX support, expressed that is a XPE, for me is a XRE model(even dough, both must run up to 1000ma MAX)the differences between 350 and 650 by human eye are minimal (almost negligible)

    - Very bright LED.- Straight forward installation.- Official CREE LED. Just as pictured.
I currently do not have any thermal conductor between the emitter and the flashlight.I plan on using some thermal paste to help transfer the heat away from the LED.
I am very satisfied with this purchase.I used this emitter to replace the emitter in my TrustFire TR-801 Q5-WC 5-Mode flashlight, SKU 15335.This emitter is a whole lot brighter than the Q5-WC emitter, although the Q5-WC was not an official CREE LED emitter, whatever difference that makes.
