  • Nice versatile light.

Very bright, good throw. Uses both CR123 and AA batteries. Very pocketable size when used with 1xCR123 (about 3.2" long).
Beam a little purple. Brightness seems to be the same with 1xCR123 as it is with 2xAA. Fairly tight spot with smooth side spill.
    Nice single mode light.
  • This is Awsome-O

A great light with over 100 Lumens of light output. I'd say somewhere around 120-130. Has a nice build and will work with both protected and unprotected RCr123 (and it twist/closes all the way with both)Has 5 modes and a decent strap.
A light touch to the on button will shuffle through the modes faster. I also bought the 3W cree p4 which is 20% shorter than this one(a pro), but slighty dimmer and only one mode.
Buy it, become a jr flashaholic, and then buy the other models to compare.

A no brainer to operate. Typical (IE: Excellent!) Romisen build quality. Decent output, won't blow you back on your heels. However, once you compare it to others in it's class & price range, you'll find yourself reaching for it when you need a useful light that won't blind you in tight quarters. (or @ night)
Excellent for working on PCs, or anything within arm's length reach. Also excellent for those same tasks as night chores.
Easy to upgrade, simply swap to a Q5 like SKU 11022 or 11023 for a nice boost in output.
A good twisty CR123 light. Actually, near perfect for an EDC light that can be clipped inside your front jeans pocket, or even a shirt pocket.
  • cool-looking light

    Good output.
    Solid aluminum construction.
    Cool camo pattern.
    Grippy latex finish.
    O-ring sealed.
    Solid tail click switch.
    It's a P60 host and will accept drop-ins.
    Takes 18650 or CR123 cells.
The drop-in appears to be sku.11836 and it's noticeably brighter on 2xRCR123a. I haven't tried rigging up anything to test the 18V limit, though.
This wound up having its drop-in replaced with an older one and given to the kids, as it doesn't look like the camo finish can survive field/hunting use. They absolutely love the camo pattern though, as well as the GITD tailcap and bezel o-ring I installed (heh). GITD is quite contradictory to camo, but it's all for the cool factor.
You may want to clean up the threads and apply some lube as soon as you get it, or you're going to shred some o-rings.
    Very cool-looking novelty light.
  • Bright, Strong, Doesn't Fit 18650

    posted by Infant

I received it, and the first though was: "This is smaller than I thought." It was decently built. It looks and feels real solid. The light is bright enough (Hint: Don't stare in directly...can't see now...) only i wasn't able to test it fully (read cons.)
Because it doesn't fit an 18650 as advertised, I've given the build quality a 3 star. If they just made the tube 1 or 2 mm larger, it would surely fit without a problem. I've contacted DealExtreme to ask for another model which does fit the 18650, and send this one back. Waiting for a response.
Don't purchase this if you plan to use it with an 18650.
