  • Good choice - works well

This digital pin saver is just fantastic. You can driver all 8 7-segment displays with any set of data you want. The leds are red/green so you can display good/bad error codes. Then there are still 8 key inputs! The software is very very simple. It works right from the box.You can link several of these units to a giant display/key input.
I use just one unit and it needs 3 digital Arduino Leonardo pins plus power. It will work on any pin.
Get this. It is fun and very useful.

    - Good display, bright- DIY to cut price- Universal in use- Convenient for home projects or with use of a classic display controller- Straightforward design
All in all, it's a very good product for those who know the inner workings.Needs fair SMT soldering skills. But the components are not too small: IC's are SOIC size and passive components are 0805. Not too difficult.LED matrixes must be soldered as well since they are only positionned with 2 pins soldered on delivery. They are through hole. Easy to solder. Before soldering the matrixes, I would recommend to place a PCB screw connector (not supplied) for the power supply. Therefore, you must first desolder one matrix (2 pins only to desolder) to be able to solder the power connector.
    Recommend it

Very good price. Good solder joints for Ardduino and compatible :) Build quality is very good. Totally compatible, and easy to use with Arduino. Good small PCB.
It would be nice to find a small box to fit this sensor. Small good footprint.
Very easy to use with one of the Arduino clones that can be found on DX.com. The sensor can be positioned practically everywhere. I'm wanna use it for a small LCD monitor calibrating application.

    * Good transmission quality, even through some walls* Easy to use and to interface* Supports digital and analog audio* Perfect to try out the VMR6512
I think it's a really cool gadget for DIY-projects, too.You could send some FM modulated digital data or feed all radios in house with the music from your media-server... Has better performance than most of the car fm transmitters.
Cool gadget, maybe it get even some more of them in future...
  • A must have for all Arduino hobbyists.

    - Very useful to get numeric and/or state output and to provide input to a sketch into an Arduino using only 3 pins.
    - Rather cheap for all the functionality provided.
    - The little ribbon cable used to chain several modules can be used to connect the Arduino, when soldering a adequate outlet on a prototype shield.
It can easily be used with the excellent lib :
This is obviously a must have for any Arduino hobbyist.
It can either be used for its own sake, just for fun, or to provide a good way to display some internal values when building something bigger. For example, buttons can be programmed to select a given value to display.
