  • MaxiScan MS609 brief review

MaxiScan works as it is supposed to work. Easy to connect, easy to understand menu. I like the material. The screen is big enough too. Buttons work quite smooth, and there no need to use forse to push them. Reader reads engine codes and ABS codes as it is supposed to do. Erases those codes, too.
    I like the product.
I suggest to buy this item. overall I feel satisfied to have it.
  • Bluetooth OBD-II reader

Very good build quality. Fits connector very well and functions as expected. Can read and clear most error codes and do diagnostics on the engine if it has the right software.
Very well put together little device, works very well and does a superb job at checking your engine.
Bargain! The price is very low and the quality very good. It would help a lot if the manual included all the required information such as pairing code etc.
  • Works great!

I have an older ELM327 bluetooth adapter that works great, this works the same. My car is a 2005 Ford Focus wagon, this fits flush against the dash. Hasn't fallen out yet, doesn't seem loose or liable to fall.
I have a 7" Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 tablet that I use in the car. I got an Arkon SM517 to mount the tablet securely, and I got an EZOPower 2 port USB power adapter for the cigarette socket, and a retractable charger cable. I use "autoguard" app for a dashboard camera recorder and "torque" app for extra gauges.
If you have a bluetooth tablet this is far better than a wired adapter, I bought a handheld OBD-II scanner from a Canadian store called Princess Auto for $40 on sale and it is not nearly as useful as the Android app and this plug.
  • Great Money saver

Worked out of the box on both my Audi and my wifes beetle. Reset my MIL light which was due to a "Faulty" O2 sensor. Mechanic quoted over $400 to replace. Guess what? hasn't come back on saved me $400 less $30
If you own a VW or Audi you need this in your toolbox
Save yourself money get one so you're not at the mercy of the car dealer
  • works fine with VAG cars

    posted by mika2011

    - Works ok with my 2006 VAG car. Can read the failure codes- shows also the OBD self-tests, whether they have been passed or not. It is very useful to check these before inspection- clears correctly the failure codes and turns off the annoying yellow engine symbol from dashboard- good manual, describes the fault codes- very easy to use- no need for battery- well build, feels solid
Should have bought this ages ago. Local car service takes about 50 euros for reading the codes. It is good to check a fault code as soon as possible, as it might be something important. My failure codes have been temporally unimportant things, I have just cleared them.
Works ok with newer VAG cars (VW, Skoda, Audi, Seat)
