  • performs as described, but not beyond

Works in Linux, Win95 and WinXP. Does not require CardBus, so it works on really old laptops. The build quality is good. I didn't notice the plastic case in the photos, so it came as a pleasant surprise.
I was hoping to use this adapter to move files to/from an IBM ThinkPad 701C. That's because this laptop does not have FDD, CDROM or USB. The OS is Win 3.1, so it does not have drivers for a PCMCIA Ethernet card. IrDA also does not seem to be supported.
First, I inserted the card into PCMCIA port, and booted the win3.1 from HDD, but the flash card was not recognized. Then I removed the hard drive and replaced it with this card (the hard drive has PCMCIA interface too). However, the computer got stuck in reset loop.
Useful if you want to add storage to a win95+ laptop that does not have a USB port or a CardBus interface.

  • Works with microdrive

Works with CF, microdrives, and CF readers (mine was a type II CF card that reads SD cards).
The microdrive I was using does not fully support the PC-Card interface (it's a Seagate ST650211CF drive with firmware version 3.04; one of my CF reader will refuse to read it), but it still could be used with this adapter.
Wish there were better packaging than just bubble wrap. The pins came slightly bent. A little cardboard would help.
Great way to get a SSD into laptops if you've figured out how to minimize writes from your OS. I used it to replace a noisy HDD with a microdrive (which is more quiet). Also used it in USB enclosures. Definately useful.
  • Very nice item

I purchased this with a specific application in mind. The item functions well. My application required it to boot a non Windows OS. So this was a test device more then anything.
This is only an adapter to convert the Micro SD to be usable in a Compact Flash environment. The not booting may well be due to the Micro SD.
This device works to read the Micro SD via a Compact Flash interface. The custom OS we use needs a bit more work to boot with this arrangement

I bought a transcend 16GB to put inside, it's works perfectly on my computer but it is not as fast as i imagined.
I got a 18M/S on wirtting and 26M/S on reading, i thought it would be faster.
The build quality is excellent, in iron, look like very strong.
