  • Must have for reading old HDD

    posted by oceanuz

Good price point for this dock. Plug and play (on Linux). Hdd can easily fit. Support both SATA and IDE. (I bought this for the old IDE HDDs as there's no PC around to read them anymore. Now I have couple hundreds more GB to stash my ever increasing data...
There seems to be an issue with having multiple HDDs or cards in the dock. - When SATA HDD and IDE HDD are put it, only one of the drive can be mounted. - It could be power requirement, or could be the Ubuntu system I'm using No further investigation as I don't usually need them together.
    It works as intended.
  • compact and functional unit

This adapter card is compact and without any problems converts ide to sata connected devices. I am using mine with an internal dvd burner and everything from install to use is working correctly. Came also packaged in an anti static bag which is an extra level of protection which I was pleased to see along with the items usual blister package. see photo..
    Good price and functionality
Buy it if you need sata connectivity
  • Good adapter overall

Very useful adapter to have, in order to (re)use some old 1.8" hard disks for some silent storage
I bought this adapter as I'm planning to use it to backup the contents of some old music player hard disks and perhaps reuse them where I need a tiny hard disk in my microcontroller projects.
Overall, it is an interesting product. It's tiny, it's cheap, and it helps you with a format (1.8") that is not too common to interface with.
  • Great adapter for msata to micro sata

    posted by DennisH

Great little and usefull adapter/ converter. Works like a charm, no additional drivers needed for windows 7. Plug and play. Fits with ease in a HP Elitebook 2530p 1.8" drivebay. Very cheap and it was send very fast.
A spacer would-be nice, the adapter would sit more firmly in the drivebay.
Cheap alternative to use a msata SSD drive in the 1.8" drive bay of your notebook
  • Doesn't work with CD/DVD

Cheap (in Brazil it costs about US$15)
welds were a bit rough and the board was a bit dirtythe packing said "converts sevial ATA to Paraller ATA"... really chinese stuff
if you're using to connect a HD to a SATA port, nice... if you wanna use it for a CD/DVD drive, try another
