  • Good filter

    - Cheap price. Locally, I could find one like this for at least 15 USD.
    - Good build quality. Black finished aluminum frame is solid and sturdy.
    - Supposedly, this filter is a multicoated-glass, which is good for reducing ghost and flare.
    - Slim external frame made is good for wide angle lens since the vignetting would not be an issue.
    - Even this is a slim filter, it still can hold a lens cap.
    - Apparently, no light loss from using this filter.
    - Quite easy to attach and detach from the filter thread of lens.
    - This product is good as a protection filter in order to protect glass of the lens from dust and dirt.
    - Recommended to anyone using digital camera, mostly digital single-lens reflex (dSLR) type, that accepts filter as a protection filter.
  • PRO1-D DMC Ultra-Thin Multi-Coated UV Camera Filter - Black (55mm) Review

    posted by CWCSCA

This is the ultra thin model, I used it on my Ricoh GRX A16 24-85mm F3.5-5.5 Module along with the LC-3 auto-opening lens cap, with this filter on the lens the LC-3 works perfectly. This is an ideal UV filter, completely transparent, you just put it on and forget about it. Primary use is to protect the lens, secondary use to filter out unwanted UV lights.
There are two groups of people, one does not use any filter at all, the other uses UV filter both for protect the front element from being scratched and filter out the unwanted UV-lights. I belong the later group.
Really useful accessory for the lens.

+ Works very well with my Canon EF-S 17-55 2.8 IS USM objective
    + Good picture quality
+ Comes in a very sturdy and nice plastic case, good for storaging the filter
With this lens, you can get pretty close to the target you wish to photograph! New uses for normal lenses.
Very nice product for close-up photography with non-macro lenses! You need to be very close to the target so not suitable for wildlife (insects etc).
