    This SKU delivers exactly that what other of these kind of voltageboosters do not have, currentcontroll!!So you don't have to use ballastresistors or other currentlimiting measures.Leds do have the habit to alter their resistance when they are in conducting state (like fluorescentbulbs but less dramatical)So this booster can drive powerleds without other components when cooling is OK!!
    Can be used to build massive ampifiers for carsAlso suitable for RC when higher voltages are used.When used 3 pieces parallel (with diodes) you can even feed an electric bike with one traction battery (12/24 VDC) USE an antiparraleldiode for the motor!!
    For inventors this is a very handy component with much (hidden) potential.

    Small size, professional product good connectors,high efficiency.Covers many situations.
    Often about 12 VDC input is used. in that case it can deliver only 2 Amps at 60 VDC.When used to power up ampifiers the produced heat can easily destroy the booster and anything in its line (shortcut the powersupply and the system wich get the output.It is very important to (when you use higher voltages) you give an input near the max value (24-30VDC) while in that case the outputcurrent can be higher.The trouble is the flybactransformer, its wires are to thin to give them more as 3-4 amps,the transistors/IC's are well oversized to handlesome more power but when the insulation of wires of the flyback transformer , the shortcut damages the whole system.And again 60VDC is concidered harmfull/potential lethal when the contacresistance to skin is low and the heart lies in the current-way, your fingers are not longer in controll of your brains!!
    A really usefull module for inventers etc. but not for persons who start with working with electricity, they can better buy the 150 Watt version wich delivers voltage below 36 VDC what is considered not dangerous.For me however, I'm very pleased with this module!!
  • Handy Boost/Up Converter

    Does good job for rising 1-5V battery voltage to regulated 5V. Output voltage stable 5.18V with low ripple and noise. Small and fits easily in smaller project cases.
    Apparently does not mind if external 5V is fed to output. Low idle current, <200µA, so good for low energy projects.
    Good boost/up converter for DIY products that use batteries or solar cells etc. Can be used e.g. for arduino projects or mobile chargers, ultra small RC vehicles, wirelesses etc.
  • Useful step up, but not step down

    WEll constructed with no signs of shipment damage. Came in EMF protected sleeve. Good fine grain control of voltage adjustment allowing .1V with good accuracy. 12.2V input gave a maximum of 37.8V output at maximum adj. 10.8V output at minimum adjustment (that's the brass screw on the blue box) Not carried out current load test yet. Probably very useful for boosting LED/ charge circuits requiring more than 12V
    Somewhat surprised this did not give lower voltage than 10.8 on minimum output (12.2V in) However I wanted a boost V output so this module was perfect
    As boost output this board is excellent. Good fine grain voltage control for V-out setting. Slightly too expensive compared with the other board http://www.dx.com/p/mini-dc-dc-voltage-stabilizer-regulator-module-red-126106 which is NOT a boost voltage, but reduces well to 1.V
