The detection range is around 5-6 meters. It has a reasonable horizontal view and a very small vertical view, I would guess 10-20 degrees.
The plastics are very well molded and show no rough edges. Good plastics often mean the item is of high quality. The light sensor works very well so the light will only come on late after noon or in a darkened room.
Cheap! Something like this item would sell for at least 20$ here in Australia.
The light fades slowly when no movement is sensed. When I enter a room I get the feeling this light is saying "OH HI!" when it turns on. ^.^
The light it emits is enough to see where you are going. It's not something you can read with etc.
Now I never need to be blinded when going to the toilet at night.
Buy one. There is no doubt in my mind that anyone can find a use for this. I reckon it would also make a sweet gift!
  • Good lamp, not good description

Using external power source DC 3V can light forever. And no need to replace batteries.
Not sure how it works when connected both power sources - 2xAA batterires and external DC 3V power adapter. What is used? Batteries or DC?
Good device, want to buy more for kitchen. When come to kitchen at the evening to catch up some food no need to turn on the light
  • Perfect for lighting cupboards, walkways, etc

Only needs two AA batteries - my current units take four AAAs and isn't as bright (SKU: 106495 at time of writing).Very good brightness - possibly attributed to there being eight LEDs vs. six in my current ones.Light sensor seems very effective and more capable of distinguishing between night and day, which saves battery as the LEDs aren't coming on unnecessarily.I have these in my corner kitchen cupboards now - perfect for illuminating cans and other stuff that get shoved into the deepest darkest corners.
Will be interesting to see how long the batteries last - my current ones are surprisingly economical on batteries, requiring new ones only once every few months, even when placed in a bathroom that is used daily.Plastic looks a little brittle but I'm not using it as a helmet so it should be fine.
Good value.Perfect for cupboards and bathrooms - especially those that have noisy extractor fans that you don't want to wake everybody when you need to go in the middle of the night!
