5v power supply Customers Reviews

  • Excellent power supply

Small but powerful, runs on both AC and 12V DC, has USB power output, comes with lots of different plugs, well cooled.
A very good value for the money. I'm going to use this both as an AC supply and as converter for a 12V led accumulator auxilliary battery casing for my laptop, this saves me the trouble of building a converter as it can run on AC when available, and on battery when not.
Works excellent and delivers what it promises, does not get too hot even under full load. I can recommend spending the extra few $'s compared to DX's other laptop power supply even if you don't need a 12V converter because of the quality.
  • Power supply work fine but assembly bad

Small, metal housing. Cold without a load at long time. Easy to connect to external circuit. Have surge (coil and capacitor) at input. Good voltage stabilisation on load from 0 to 100%.
It is desirable to attach a power transistor to the metal case for better heat dissipation. The housing has a special hole for this, but the transistor was far (bent) from the housing wall. Maybe the power supply and so will run at maximum capacity.
Normal power supply for electronic devices.
  • Really small!

This is a really small switching power supply!!Line side has a varistor, thus some kind of surge suppression is provided.Output voltage: 5.10V (no load)When no load is attached, a witched power supply draws about NOTHING current. Ideal green replacement for those old bulky transformers.
Still didn't measure ripple at maximum load (will put results soon), but according the specs it is around 150mV (according the specs it is 150 mW, but that is probabely a bug...)
Nice, cheap and small switching power supply. Not worth making one youself......
  • Switching Regulator

    posted by Logsplitter

A simple device, no external components required. Output ripple is very low, as is heat as full output. No heatsink necessary even at continuous full output, (with 15 volts supply voltage).
The regulators can be combined with steering diodes to increase output current. The ripple does not appear to increase even when combining the output of 3 regulators.
An excellent stand alone regulator, especially for a USB power source. Have used more than a dozen for automotive cellphone chargers without a single failure
  • The best friend to your breadboard.

5v to 3.3v to power almost any project.Good design, one must consider jumper settings according to your needs. It is very practical to have all voltages directly from the module.Works with virtually any DC power supply. The POWER provided by the module is very consistent.
This product is a must in any breadboard.Great for any student or amateur, it simplifies the job. (I wish I had this module when I was in school)
Simple, inexpensive and functional.3.3v is great for many devices.
