  • Nice for NIKON 1 J1 10-30mm lens

    posted by tetmer

By using 40.5-52mm step up adapter, this conversion lens can be fit with NIKON 1 J1 10-30mm lens. There is no vignetting at frame corners even at 10mm zoom end. We can enjoy barrel shape deformation at wide angle photo.
Original lens cap of this conversion lens is too simple with cheap looking. So, I am using 72mm lens cap with NIKON logo which we can buy at DX or other shops.
Recommended for NIKON 1 users who hope to take wider view photo.
  • A great toy for beginners

For a very low price, you get to try out how a dedicated macro/wide angle lens feels. And it might just be enough for a beginner.
I am just an amateur photographer so my opinion might not be the best, but I would recommend this to anyone who cannot spare the money to buy a dedicated wide angle lens.
    Definitely worth it.
  • Decent value

Solid construction, wide angle + macro in one, and does do its job of widening the view. The attachment is also nice and small, metal, and comes in a nice sack. It does not feel cheap.
Despite the drawbacks, this is about what I expected from this lens at this price, so I will say that it has decent value, and you'll be able to take wider shots with it. To achieve sharpness at the corners requires many different lenses which would be very expensive. The blurring at the edges may even help draw out the middle.
For an attachment lens, it's pretty decent, but don't expect it to achieve very sharp images in the widened areas.
  • Great for non-professional use

    posted by Konjo

    - The case is made from durable metal- Good packaging - it survived the postal handling surprisingly well- The carrying pouches are convenient- Very compact- A small fraction of price of the actual telephoto lens- The aberrations mentioned in 'cons' section are quite weak and can be corrected in photo editing software
The 'pros' and 'cons' deduced from a quick test using Nikon D5100 DSLR with AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR kit lens.
It is a great purchase for any advanced amateur photographer, who is not ready to pay 1000+ $ for a professional lens and would like to extend the capabilities of kit optics.
