  • Slim enclosure with nice finish

Overall, this is a nice metal compact enclosure, and is one of the cheapest ones that comes with a standard USB 3.0 Micro-B connection on the hard drive (as opposed to using the full-sized A connector that most cheaper enclosures use). I prefer to have the Micro-B connector as most other commercial 2.5" external hard drives will use this same type of cable (e.g. my Western Digital and Toshiba 2.5" USB 3.0 drives use the same connector). Nice as these cables are easier to come by. Overall, the pros are:* Standard USB 3.0 Micro-B connection on hard drive side* Good price, compared to other options* Nice brushed-metal finish* Slim* No-screw design means you can put your hard drive in without any tools.
I would not recommend this enclosure if you plan on swapping drives in and out often. But if you're going to keep the same drive in it all the time, once you get it in, all seems fine. I haven't tested it for USB 3.0 speeds. You may like or detest the flower pattern design on it. It's subtle enough for me that it doesn't bother me much.
It's hard to get your drive in, so if you're not patient with such things, you may want to look elsewhere. But if not, overall, I recommend it as an affordable option with a USB 3.0 Micro-B connector - for me that was what sold me.
  • Fast easy to use enclosure

Light, easy to use, fast, works with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0
I purchased this for my wife to use her old laptop drive with her new laptop. The first thing I had to do is repair the old drive, repartition, and move here data from the windows partition to a separate partition. I found plugged into my USB 2.0 port in front of the computer I consistently obtained 30 MB/s. However, after a reboot I found when I plugged the drive in again I started to get a constant beeping and no connection. I read elsewhere the beeping means it is not getting enough power. So I plugged the drive into my USB 3.0 port in the back of the computer. At that point it worked again. For the remainder of the process it ran at 60 MB/s. So the USB 3.0 port is twice as fast. The only reason I didn't use the USB 3.0 port to start with, is it is more difficult to reach the ports at the back of the computer.I was quite impressed though that it managed to work for so long on USB 2.0 power. I imagine as the drive heated up, it required more power.
If you are looking for a USB 3.0 enclosure for your old laptop drives buy this. However, I am not sure how well this would hold-up to being carried around in a purse or pocket.
  • Easy to use case

    -Handy never-to-loose cable-Good M/B compatibility-Only one usb port needed-Carrying pounch included
It has a handy cable that is impossible to forget or loose, very easy to store in minimum space. But screws holding parts together are too small and unreliable (After two month I had to glue the case). Unfortunately I couldn't make it work in USB 3.0 mode on my Asus M4A88T-I Deluxe motherboard W7 x64 under any driver configuration. While it is equipped with JMS539 chip which really declares USB 3.0 support, datarate did never exceeded 30mbps (USB 2.0 maximum).
Nice really portable device (one usb port power is always enough, good cable), but speed isn't fascinating.
  • Good.

Good against mechanical shock. I installed the hard drive Toshiba 2.5 "and the dimensions are correct, there is no air in between and no strange sounds. Only thing I have a small complaint and refers to the USB 3.0 cable that is too thick, but these are all.
Otherwise, I protect the hard drive with the Bit Locker in Windows 8, and I am very satisfied. Everything works quickly and correctly. It would be nice if the kit got a small screwdriver, but it is easy to obtain.Recommendation.
  • Not USB 3.0

Build quality is good. Easy to install. Aluminium casing is good for heat dissipation.Really cheap.
Edges of the casing is sharp. I smoothened the edges slightly with a fine sand paper.
You buy this HDD external case for the build quality but don't expect blazing HDD performance out of it. This is only slightly faster than most USB2.0 HDD enclosure.
