12v gear motor Customers Reviews

  • Great quality

This product beat all my expectations with torque enough and power consumption for my device. When it is supplied with 12-12.4 Vdc a person cannot stop to turn the engine from the output tube.
Not easy to assemble in a surface because the holes to screw the engine to a surface are close to the engine (specially the left bottom) but with the other 3 holes are enough.
Since I have it (two months ago) it works ok an the gear wheels look ok after several hours working under punctual high torques.
  • Very well made

+ Solid, robust build of gear section+ Smooth run+ Fairly high torque+ Bigger shaft diameter (though, this could be a minus for someone)
Used for fishing rod turning rig, so it has to run for long periods of time (couple of hours or more without pause) when drying rods. After a month of regular, practically daily use, motor still runs without a problem, like the first day i got it.
In pair with more expensive brand DC motors. Highly recommended.
  • Very high quality and high torque motor

Very high torque geared motor. I am using it to move a curtain up and down. It's about 4kg and the motor is able to move it without effort. The shaft after gearing is in the same position than the shaft of the motor, so it's easy to fit.
Take care while soldering copper terminals, you could break them or burn the brushes, dont put the solder on them for a long time.
A very good quality geared motor :)
  • Just as advertised

Man these are strong! Great build quality, very good case design. Just as advertised, right down to the length and shaft diameter.
I'm using this as a motor to roll up/ roll down blinds for a home automation project. Works like a charm and has more than enough power. Be sure your power supply can give it enough current as well as the required 12V.
If this is what you need, get it. Free shipping can't hurt too!
  • Will buy more of these

Low power needed to run itLooks durable, well madeMounting holes on the face plate
I have this powered with four LX-B580 (search DX) solar cells in parallel - it's much more than needed, one this cell could power it well. It draws 25mA at 6.5V from solar. I couldn't stall it with my hand, but made some moderate load and it drew 35mA. Still powered by four solar cells.
It took only few hours to ship this (with other DIY parts), but 8 weeks to deliver it, most of the time sitting somewhere in China (probably).
